I've been going into work early and utilising my break time to make a Vulcan M134 replica.

It is mainly acrylic and tooling board with a butchered joystick.

I still have a long way to go with the detailing I haven't started the right side yet), but the basics are there, if a little rough in places.

Re: Another 1:1 'Ole Painless' M134 Replica

Thanks guys. I'm not sure what I'll do with it when it's done....it'll probably sit in the loft...in a box.

Progress has been slow the last couple of weeks but I've done a bit of work on the right hand side.

Re: Another 1:1 'Ole Painless' M134 Replica

Thanks Patrick.

I've almost finished the build. I've removed the standard handle and made the add-on handle that 'Ole Painless' had. No pictures yet though. I've got to scratch the M60 grip, which I'm not too happy about.

I did have a metal serial number plate made, just for fun. Check the serial number :)

Wow, that looks like it could fire... awesome build! The gun collector in me is drooling. The brass serial plate takes it up a notch, the level of detail you cover is incredible. Too cool.

How heavy is it?

digging the serial number :lol

as usual a nice clean build.

Re: Another 1:1 'Ole Painless' M134 Replica

Cheers guys. :)

She's almost done. I'm just making a load of clips to add and then I'll Zeebo the final finish (once the 2-pack lacquer has dried). I'm going to start the pattern to vac-form the M60 part next week.

Excellent work, love the level of detail specially on the feeder-delinker.

What kind of reference material did you use?

Re: Another 1:1 'Ole Painless' M134 Replica

That is very impressive! Most M134 builds are PVC pipes and the dimensions come out all wrong. Tell us some of your building secrets :) How was the brass plate made? cnc? or acid etching? I took would like to know your reference material? perhaps cad drawings?

thanks for sharing!

Re: Another 1:1 'Ole Painless' M134 Replica

Cheers guys.
Matsuo, I just did a bunch of Google searches for the M134 and found shots from all of the angles I needed. As far as the 'Ole Painless' upgrade parts, I found the ref here.
T2SF, mine is still mainly pipes, but acrylic. The rest of the details are turned from chemiwood (tooling board) or cut from flat acrylic sheet. I didn't have any drawings, but once I knew the barrel length for the weapon I could kind of scale the rest from there.
Simpletom, no plans to have it rotate. I did think about it though. The barrels can be removed from the body and the body is hollow, could I could retrofit a motor I guess.

Vos are you going to be building the back pack with all the ammo in it?

Some great photos (mostly screen captures) of old painless about 1/4 the way down the page.

Did you know that the gun used is the same gun to be later used in Terminator 2 they just changed it back to the chainsaw grip.
