finished my MK X tricorder - big pics and video link

Here it is without electronics.

Here’s a shot when I started putting the electronics in today.

Here is a video of the tricorder working. I took it with my regular digital camera. It is not a digital movie camera, alas, so it is constantly refocusing and the sound is low.

It makes a ‘ratchet sound’ when opened. It has four different scan sounds that change when a button hidden beneath the graphics is pressed, and when closing makes another ratcheting sound just like in the show!

Let's see, It took me four or five weeks working on weekends and afternoons.

And, yeah, I've already annoyed the crap out of my wife with this thing. I had to consciously avoid playing with it this morning while she was still asleep, and it was hard to see it sit all not open and beeping! :lol

I think I should do the medical Mark X now.
