Finished 1/600 Revell TOS Enterprise

Hey Guys, here is my finished 1/600 Revell TOS Enterprise. When this kit first came out I wasn't a fan of it at all. The deep grid lines, those rectangle thingys under the warp nacelles are too bulky and wrong angles. The housing around the deflector dish is pretty 90 degrees instead of being angled and a few other issues as well. But when I saw what others had done with their's I thought, "Hey that looks pretty good." So I got one too. I filled in the grid lines, which IMHO makes a huge improvement and makes the flow of the lines on the model look much better. I filled in some of the windows too with styrene rod and thick strips, I thought it just look too busy with windows. I used a combination of decals from JT's 18 inch Enterprise, Round2 18 inch and what came with the kit. I was going to light it but changed my mind at the last minute, just didn't feel like doing all the extra blacking out of the inside and that. After I put the windows in I puttied around them sanded them down from 400 to 1500 grit then Tamiya polish. Its the first time I have done that and think it makes for a more realistic look. I used 1/16 inch vinyl tape to cover them giving a consistent width. Its far from perfect but I am happy with it and the next will be better! Yes I know I screwed up on the two NCC 1701 decals on the bottom saucer. ;) And compared to the AMT 18 inch kit its really is a huge improvement.
