A production made Sports Almanac cover was listed on screenused.com and they have a ruler next to it! I did some photoshopping to get these:

Awesomeness Brad - Good eye.

My replica was only off by a 1/4" or so - not too bad.

Thanks Gary,
Yep, I have your copy in my BTTF display case. Take into account that this photo is not taken completely straight on and yours might be even closer in size overall.

I'd like to think i do have a pretty good replica. I was just unable to do the silver metallic ink on mine. If Brad has the time, I'm sure he could post a couple pics of the one I made up for a few of us.

I don't mind the differences too much - it does help to identify them from the real thing.

Awesome!!! Now get to making a good replica of it :p

Below are some quick photos I took of my own production-made Almanac cover w/metallic ink.
Purchased MANY moons ago from the Williams Collection.
All of Fyfe's measurements are correct to mine except for the height. Mine is giving me a height of 8 13/16"
I have also posted a pic of the replica I had made a few years ago.
I had the original cover scanned and professionally touched up in photoshop. We had to come up with a color that looked close to the metallic ink, but we got something back that didnt look so good so I'm happy we are trying to get a replica made using the metallic ink.
I'm not sure if the photos show well enought that it does indeed have the metallic ink, but here they are:

I dug through an almost endless stack of CDs and found the one that has the original Photoshop file way back when I had the cover scanned and touched up.
It's 100% 1:1 scale to my original cover so there would be no issues there at all.
Back when I had my replica made, I had blank pages professionally bound - I forget what kind of binding it is called, but it is quite perfect and I would hope the same quality of binding can be done for a possible replica.
Another issue to discuss is the pages - do we have an accurate source for the text?

I just scanned the movie and made a couple of screen grabs. No great shots though.

I do believe it was mostly filler text with one FOOTBALL score page. It doesn't seem like any of the other pages have the same heading or even the same typeface or styling as the rest of the pages.

Maybe someone could get some good screen grabs when the blu-ray comes out.

I've been exchanging some PMs with RPF member markpoon about doing a run based off scans of my original production cover.
I'm assured that the silver ink will be reproduced exactly and since my scans are 1:1 scale with my original cover, there should be NO question regarding accuracy, especially in the area of size.
Right now my next concern is the inside pages text. What will the cover page look like? How should we format the rest of the book?
I also want to make sure that the dust jacket is printed on that glossy magazine style paper, and the actual cover on standard cardstock exactly like the original.

I'm really hoping that if we can work together and take our time, we can finally have "the" definitive Almanac replica.
I have seen other replicas in the past that contain the inside text. I would prefer to have images/scans of these pages from an orignal Hero prop book, especially that first 'cover page' before we proceed.
Markpoon will be sending me proofs in the mail for me to compare to my original cover and approve or deny said proofs prior to any production run.
When things start heating up, we will post an interest thread in the JY.

Man jimmy that would be cool if you guys get these going.I'm such an idiot cause i had an oppertunity to buy one of tims (BTTF123's) replica almanacs with the scanned pages but i passed up on it :unsure.I tried contacting him about scanning the pages for me but he already sold the book :angry.Anyway someone has to have the full pages they can scan.

Try contacting Tim again. If he sold copies with the text, he has to have a file somewhere of those scans. It would really make this whole thing come together.

I'm already on top of it, I just emailed him so let's see what happens.

Stumbled onto this thread late, but I hope not too late. I have an original Grays Sports Almanac cover I purchased a while back from a Hollywood Prop Auction house. I'd be more than willing to share the hires scanned cover in PDF format with everyone, all I ask is someone send me a copy of the guts if they have any. Let me know if it's okay to post a link to the PDF file here and I'd be more than happy to link it.

I also have an 'unused' authentic Pizza Hut Rehydrated wrapper, and I also redrew the Blast from the Past receipt in vector/Illustrator format if anyone needs it.
