what films did you have to watch more than once to get to like it for me its baderunner and 2001 a space odyssey

I didn't appreciate 2001 until I read the book. Then it made a lot more sense to me.

Memento, Inception, Dark City... I could probably name a lot that I thought it took more than one viewing to more-fully appreciate.

Matrix Trilogy, or at least 2 and 3...
Bladerunner for me too
Donnie Darko, which became one of my favorites after the second watch... :lol

Inception, Butterfly Effect, Bladerunner, Momento and a few others I can't remember! Some films just get better the more you watch them as the pieces seem to fit better.

Clockwork Orange. Still not sure its a brilliant film. I was just told if I watched it the second time I would like it better.

I still feel its just an awkward movie.

Mullholland Dr.

First time I watched it and said "WTF was THAT?!" Second time I watched it, I said "Ooooooh NOW I get it. Cool!"

Empire Strikes Back - did not like it at all when I saw it the first time, it had none of the magical innocence that Star Wars had. I went into it looking for that 'Star Wars' spirit and found it totally lacking... After getting over the above, I went back and watched it unbiased and realized it was a very good film...

Sixth Sense, Memento, Prestige, Sherlock Holmes are a few of the movies that I appreciated the 2nd viewing cause I understand what clues were there in plain site.

I saw ANH 15 times (original release).
ESB 22 times (original release).
Blade Runner (twice).
Inception (twice).
LOTR-all three movies (twice).

The experience watching all of these films on the big screen was great, but I have to admit seeing Star Wars, and Empire when these films first came out was incredible. I can still remember the lines that stretched around the block, and the excitement and joy I experienced as a very small child seeing these, then going to the toy store and getting to pick out some figures...priceless.

I hope someday to be able to share a similiar experience with my children. I hope at some point a film comes along that generates that same buzz and excitement, but I don't know if that will ever happen again.
