I know this has been a topic here before, but thought I would give it a reboot.

Anyone visited any filming locations and taken photos? I would love to see some then and now photos from any film, really.

I used to live a couple miles away from the Olde English Inn in Decatur, GA, where The Cannonball Run was filmed. I was around 12 years old at the time. Mom, my brother and I would go visit the location after school and watch. There's a photo album somewhere at my parent's house with all of the pics my brother made. I'll end up with it someday.

    Then.

Now. I got off the interstate to make these pics for another forum 3 years ago. The area is 100% ghetto now and the hotel has been closed for quite a while, I'd guess.

The square in Covington GA is where I get my hair cut every month. It is also where Burt's character landed the plane so Dom could get some more beer. The stuntman landed it on Pace St. and roared right past my barber shop, where the white car is. (It was an auto parts store in the early 80's, though)

The location was used in the first 5 episodes of The Dukes Of Hazzard, The In The Heat Of The Night TV show and I think the square has been used as a filming location for The Vampire Diaries. I don't know for sure, I don't watch much TV.

My Dad was an extra in Ray Liotta's first real movie, "Something Wild," and the next time I'm in the area where they filmed his scene, I plan on taking some photos to match the angle they used there...
When I was in Holland many years ago, I went to the bridge in Deventer where they filmed the "Arnhem Bridge" scenes in the film, "A Bridge Too Far," which hadn't changed much since the 70s. The House Anthony Hopkins' men fought from was a parking lot, as it was back then, as the house was temporary for the movie. The left side of the bridge was modern housing, which is why in the movie you never see that angle. I even walked up the same stairs the Brit flamethrower team walked up. Nothing had changed at all.

    All great stuff, guys!

Matt, your Flash video on the other thread was actually one of things that got me thinking about this topic! Keep 'em coming!!!

    - - - Updated - - -

The Old Joliet Prison is a 20 minute drive from where I live. It's worth checking out if anyone is in the Joliet area. Blues Brothers, Prison Break, Public Enemies, etc. were filmed there.

Just uploaded another video. Even if you didn't like the movie, I think this video is worth a watch. Some quality wise cracking.

Let me know if you have any ideas on how I can improve these videos going forward.

BTW, if you see a commercial filmed in a supermarket chances are it Fields Market down the street from me.. I first noticed it a few months ago, now it seems like every grocery store theme commercial has Fields in the back drop. latest one is a couple of Miners who are staked out in the Mac and Cheese isle. He tells a lady their stake is from the end to the Glutton section. She says "its Guten"

Hmmm.... I live in the same city where a few things were filmed....

The bridge from the Thomas Jane Punisher movie is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8iZOZTuW678

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunshine_Skyway_Bridge

They filmed some scenes from Cocoon here, but that was long time ago, and the shopping center / department store / lunch counter has been remodeled since then.

The local municipal pier was used as a UEO dock on Seaquest... Though it's about to be torn down.

Oh, allegedly they filmed some extras or stunt doubles running from a building implosion to be used in Lethal Weapon III, but it was cut.

"Dolphin Tale" was filmed in the city next door.... "Magic Mike" was filmed near-by but not in-town...

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Petersburg,_Florida#In_popular_culture

Oh, yes, the dog track scene from Ocean's 11 was filmed here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Derby_Lane_Greyhound_Track

IIRC, the dog track is also used in an upcoming Bryan Cranston movie: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1355631/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_3

Under Siege: The exterior deck shots (and maybe some of the interiors) were filmed in Mobile, Alabama on the USS Alabama, while I lived nearby.

Here is the Timberline Lodge. It was used for some exterior shots of the Overlook Hotel in "The Shining" (on Mt Hood, OR)

A few years back, on one of my many trips to San Francisco, I went around and photographed a bunch of the locations from one of my favorite movies, Vertigo. There are spoilers in the photos, so if you haven't seen Vertigo yet (I can't imagine why) go watch it, then look at the photos.

    Scottie's apartment.

Mission Dolores, where Carlotta Valdes is buried.

The graveyard where she is buried.

The museum where Carlotta's portrait hangs.

Fort Point, where Madeleine falls into the bay.

    Madeleine's home.

Mission San Juan Bautista, without the tower, which was a matte painting. It's amazing how little this has changed since Hitchcock shot here.

The stables as viewed from the mission.

    The stables up close.

    Madeleine's horse.

The doors leading to the bell tower.

The building where the trial is held.

The sanatorium where Scottie spends some time.

    Judy's apartment building.

And finally, the park where Scottie and Judy walk together.

I was working at Costco back in the early 2000's when our location was used in the Vin Diesel flick "The Pacifier". They shot for 3 days and I helped build the interior "Costco" set, which consisted of 9 foot high stacks of approved product that had no French packaging. That scene was shot one morning before the store opened and we were all allowed to hang out and watch.

I ended up hanging around more and saw a few other bits of filming. Vin's not as tall as he seems and he always had his bodyguard with him (slightly larger than him, super nice guy).

I remember another night in 2005 when I saw this super bright light just hanging above a subdivision under construction. Turns out they were filming "Land of the Dead" there. They shot over 3 nights. I tried getting closer to the set but they had police blocking off the road. I went by later to see exactly where they shot. To think that there's people living in those houses and don't know they were in a movie with zombies, ha!

Living close to Toronto is great because they've filmed tons of flicks around here. In my city, they shot a few parts from "Harold and Kumar go to White Castle" and down the street from where I work they're usually filming something.

I was in California for the Star Wars celebration earlier this year and took these from Halloween by the Myers house, the hedge where Michael was seen, the strodes house and Nancy's house from nightmare on elm street. It was fun driving around and finding these locations!

Anybody know about the Ennis house? where they shot some of Blade Runner? I'll be just above it at the Griffith Observatory the first two weeks this Nov and I'll be taking a look at a house just below it that had a horrible murder in the late 1950's (mom loves to ghost hunt and find creepy places the same as me)

Last week, I was in Venice, Italy and tried to spot the locations seen in the James Bond movie Moonraker. Hotel Danieli and the San Marco Square were obvious.
I could not find out where the entrance to the lab was ... (I ignored the locations for Casino Royale)

Some of the pictures were from inside I believe, there's a website for it and you can see Ford using it as the interior of the Corp.

I'm gonna be at the house below it where the murder happened in the late 50's.
