Figure Maquettes From Scratch

Hey guys,

Just curious how many of you here in the lair have built your own resin maquette models completely from scratch, I mean right from the drawing board to finished piece. I'm working on my very first right now and it is going to be the dog alien from Alien 3, and I'm confident on making the clay sculpture, but I feel I'm going to get into trouble once I am ready to break it down into the individual pieces to cast and then be able to pose them before they are glued in permanent position. Does anybody know of any helpful links that I may find on the web for this process?

Also, if you guys have made your own kits from scratch I would love to see some examples.

Thanks

...and here's what I got so far...

Awesome! I'm not sure if this counts but I got a predator action figure without a head and I plan on sculpt a new head and customize it like crazy haha

If you haven't, you'd want to check out the Shiflett brothers.
I was going to suggest their forum... it looks like it doesn't exist any more.

They have a couple of cams of their panels on YouTube.

Thanks for the links MasterAnubis, I'll troll through them when a chance to sit down. Very cool mini bust by the way. I posted a pic of one I started on your thread. Can't wait to see more of your stuff guy.
