I think I may have to change my search parameters as all I get is those stupid FO fountain lamps. I want it by the foot sort of thing.

No particular seller. Search for End Glow Fiber. There is also Side Glow.

There used to be two really big suppliers for our type of projects and IIRC one of them went out of business. But the other one (Fiber Optic Products) is still around:
