few questions

okay, am getting into this whole prop making thing. am want to make a mask/helmet of my own design. am not new to 3d modeling and making things but want to know for people more experience in this sort of thing on how to build it. the two ways I was thinking was 3D modeling it in Blender then 3d print, smooth out and finish or do it more like this tutorial Building a Daft Punk Helmet With Programmable LED Display
the main thing is I want to know what will end up looking the best
 
Both ways will work just fine. Printing will probably be easier.
The finish all depends on how much work you put in to it.
