Re: Some of my costumes - pic heavy!

HOLY FRAK! These are amazing!
Great job on all of them. The lot looks impeccable.

Are these all professionally shot? They sure do lookit.
Too many to name my faves. They are all awesome :)

Which one holds the most sacred place in your heart?

Re: Some of my costumes - pic heavy!

Wow! Amazing work on all of the costumes, really splendidly done. Did you make most of these yourself? I love it when the whole family gets involved.

Re: Some of my costumes - pic heavy!

Yes most of these are professionally shot... if you live near Houston, TX PM me and I'll get the photographer's name.

I did make some of these myself yes. Of course things like the TK were what most 501st members do... box of plastic, cut, sand, glue, rinse, repeat. All of them run the gamut, most of Indy is purchased pieces with little to no mod, but then Cap was 95% made from scratch with very little purchased. I guess if I have to pick I am most proud of the Captain America TFA. At the time I made it there was not enough reference material out there and getting the details correct were difficult. Even sourcing the materials was a difficult proposition. These are the kind of costumes I like. Something that challenges me to come out of my comfort zone and wield that machete through the jungle. When I follow along just copying what someone else has done it's just not as fun. I am also very fond of the Pipboy on the Vault Dweller. This was the first "prop" my son made himself and I am super proud of the job he did. Up to that point I did all the work and he just participated when it came time to wear them. This one he wanted for himself.

WHOA! Your costumes, and your photography are AMAZING!

Re: Some of my costumes - pic heavy!

Thanks I kinda feel that if I am going to spend months of works and 1000s of dollars on a costume that I love, what's a few more dollars to document with some incredible pictures.

My SOA patches came from all over the place. I will warn you, there are a lot of bad patches on the market. Size, color, even subtle changes to the Reaper. It makes it very hard to find the right patch but you can. It was also quite difficult to find a cut with the correct pockets, texture, side vents etc. In the end I bought one with lace up sides and cut the laces out. No would ever care if I would have left the sides alone but I feel like that's what makes this hobby my hobby! Thanks again for the compliment!

Re: Some of my costumes - pic heavy!

Best collection ever! Do you have them displayed when you're not wearing them?

Re: Some of my costumes - pic heavy!

I have considered displaying them currently only the helmets are displayed on my study wall. I'd love to turn my study into a batcave or matrix like room with my computers and desk on one side and a few of my costumes on the other... it's only money right!?

Re: Some of my costumes - pic heavy!

Vault dweller has to be my favorite in this collection, Love that Nuke a cola detail in the belt. You guys did a great job.

Re: Some of my costumes - pic heavy!

thanks everyone... I appreciate all the compliments.

The Fallout costume setting was an incredible experience. We snuck into an abandoned hospital that had been converted to a mental ward. It had been abandoned for 20 or more years and was incredibly spooky. For instance the shot where the walls are peeling like Silent Hill ... that was pitch black in real life. When I first shined the light into that hallway we all took a step back and had a second thought about proceeding down there. There were also areas where there was standing water at least 1 foot deep making that area amplify the sounds and there were some weird sounds going on. Also in one room there was a light fixture swinging for no apparent reason. You honestly could not ask for a better setting though. If you want to see the rest of the shoot the pics are on my website here : http://samuland.com/GallerySM.aspx?x=Fallout
