Holy cow, what the hell was all that patent nonsense. That was (probably) Lee? And he's banned? And that's what he's become now?!?!
I recall vouching for him behind the scenes once or twice with people he'd offended; told them he's a firebrand but worth knowing. How sad to see something like this.

Still, after years and years of research by a relatively small group of people who not only discovered pretty much all of the original donor kits used on the original Slave 1 miniature, and after all of the false starts on hulls of various designs and dimensions that were ultimately scrapped after it was determined that the donor kit parts didn't fit here or there, and after all of the reference collecting, photograph taking and sharing for the purposes of developing a whole new understanding of the original model through photogrammetry, why is it so difficult for you guys to share just some of the credit for Rob's "all-new" design with that group?
Frankly, having personally witnessed that group do all of that hard and expensive work, my trust in an entire group of people here depends on an honest answer to that question.

I can only speak for myself, but when ever the Slave 1 is invoked (like summoning a demon), I make it a point to credit the backs of whom everyone stands on to get it where it is today (in all it's various iterations - I think there are three simultaneously now?)
It all started with Allan Hansen, who's probably $5-7K in the hole with nothing to show. He's the godfather of the project and suffering the most.
IDers were Ed Minto, Dan Loes, Isel Caro, John Currila, Lee Ralph, Julien, Guy, for sure. I assume Neisen had more guys IDing too, but off the top of my head it was those fellas at the time, and the first version was born on Kurt Kuhn's board.
REL made the first go round from what turned out to be mostly Max Mill's initial work, and made a handful of fiberglass hulls. Since these were ported off the Fine Molds model and scaled up, they were no bueno.
I spend a couple thousand a year or two later, trying to make parts of a bad fiberglass casting work - enlarging the skirts mostly, per Allan's guidance. George Takacs had a guy do a run in vacformed plastic, and the results were incorrect and displeasing to a lot of people. Attempt aborted.
Guy partnered with Rob from the ground up, then it fell apart.
Guy has a new project with his crew, Rob continued what he started with Guy, and there's the Disney one that is clearly ready for primetime, though probably not up to the exacting standards of the hardcore small group of guys that have fought long and hard (with each other and to get a Slave 1 made).
I'm SURE I left stuff out, but that's an overview?
I have, since the failed vac run, been waiting for the first viable Slave 1 from some one else to come to market. I still have enthusiasm for it, but I'm not dying on that hill again.

For the record I'm not in a crew or a team or part of what just happened above. My love is the model and am trying get one made with a talented artisan to help me do the work that I can not do myself as am a complete idiot with rhino, not even that good with iPads!!!

Niesen published a probe droid , was able to because he bought the ownership( didn't know you could buy ownership)
I made one with rob as I saw that rob had very valuable talents that could help me make probably the most Acurate droid ever!!!
This is my claim, sure I read the thread as to what those wankers wrote and yeah saved me a lot of trouble searching for parts that honestly I didn't want to , but the part is what it is , I didn't steal anyrhing , I bought the correct kit and used the part.
Sold 25 kits to help pay for everything and not another one sold again!

Only because every other part was displayed everywhere else .
It's from the same freakin kits anyways and it's only a matter of time till someone finds it .

Hi Rob, just out of interest would it be possible to get a refund for the costs of the bucks I sent you ? Open and genuine question. As I have had to agree to not being a partner in this anymore and as your post above states, you clearly did all the work. I think it would be fare to say it would make sense if you were to refund me the $'s I sent for the materials ? Not looking for a debate but thought was possibly worth asking as I have no benefit from it and you have all the benefit from it.

Ah ok so the pulls where over $300 AUS for a skirt no worries wow it will be expensive for a set, no problem if you think thats what it was, I'll have a look through stuff see if I have records, if not again thanks for the reply. I'll let you know if i can track anything thats says different, thanks and keep up with the updates asap. Its going to be epic stuff to see. Real Slave hulls for the first time....not bad eh
