Due to being a giant SW geek, I find myself doing fanfilms and creating props to fill the need. Here's where things get complex:
I don't use dowels for blades; they're too heavy and make it impossible to fence with speed. I've been using slim steel tubing with a nub welded on the tip, which are light and fast. What I need is some kind of hilt material that I can whip up without extensive machining or installation. I want a hilt frankly that I can pour into a mold with the tubing in place to cement it. Does anyone know of a tough resin or a dense foam (ala Blade stunt swords) that I can use as simply as cement? Maybe a liquid nylon?
