My big project of this year is making a female predator for myself. So here's the process that i've been going through so far.
The first phase was the designing of the armor. I didn't want to just take one of the statues and copy paste, I wanted to make my own. Therefore, I took elements from a few different female predator statues and put them together

After finalizing my armor/design of my predator I began working on making the templates and cutting out the armor pieces. I went for a cheaper route and used 5mm foam for 90% of the armor. It still had the thickness and strength to not just rip on me when wearing it. With the armor I wanted to make it all more leather like, so I used the tin foil method with the aid of an iron I heat pressed the leather design into the foam.
Once everything finally had it's texture I cement glued/hot glued the armor pieces together. I cheated on the "studs" and used hot glue globs as dots...as you can see in the picture below.
My chest piece is a little different from the rest. The "boob" cups are made from worbla as well as the skeletal hands, but the rest of it is foam. The whole chest piece attaches to a leather vest/coat I made and the boobs themselves will end up being either velcroed/snapped/magnet to the body suit. (At this point I still need to finish the suit)
(painted and distressed before placed on leather vest, below)
For the suit itself, I didn't want to go the whole latex route (been there done that, I know how troublesome it can be to wear) instead I bought a typical body suit to work with as a base. I still wanted texture on the suit without having to deal with latex. I found that using Puff Paint worked wonderfully to create the scale like texture I wanted all over the suit (I don't even need to create it when I finish airbrushing it!)
Here's an early picture of the front torso and a leg:
Puff Paint usually dried to touch(without smudging) within 30 minutes and it fully dries within 24hours. It's got the exact texture I was going for without having to use latex and cottonballs. You can even go over your scales to make them bigger/thicker, it stretches nicely and doesn't snag at the fabric. The Puff Paint looks and feels like latex once dry (without the stickiness). I am going to be using claws for the toes and fingers (instead of the gloves and feet you can buy) to keep that predator look
At this point I tried on and did a test fit of all the armor on the suit. At first I was worried that the straps for the armor pieces would fall (fabrics tend to slip on spandex) but with the aid of the puff paint I do not have that problem.

Since these pictures were taken, I have fixed up a couple of the armor pieces that needed slight tweeking, I finished the neck rings (wasn't done in the photos), adjusted the look of the shoes to make them more suited to fit the whole design.
Currently working on finishing up all the dreads. I'm using the backer rod method and latexing the crap out of them to weigh them down better (I do have rings that help as well). Soon, I'll be airbrushing the suit and mask to my chosen color scheme but in the mean time I'll just keep latexing those dreads. ^_^
