Favorite Twilight Zone episode?

Far too many to choose just one. Some of my fav's:

To Serve Man
Nightmare at 20,000 Feet. (Kirk seeing a gremlin and freaking out...priceless)
The Hitch Hiker
Shadow Play

:)

Ohhh, that's a tough one!

I would say "To Serve Man" , and the one where the beautiful woman, is the ugly one, and ugly is normal. I remember the woman in that one was gorgeous, but I don't remember who she was.

Really, they are all must see shows!

Then there was the one with the guy who worked at a bank, and would only want to read. Then the end of the world comes,he has all these books to read and he breaks his glasses!.....

A shorter list would be of bad episodes. I have loved watching TZ marathons for years, and every once in a while I get to see one I never saw, or barely remember. The only problem I have is with the 4th season, when they were expanded to an hour by the network.
Even the fifth season, and by that time the team of Serling, Beaumont, and Matheson weren't writing near as many scripts, still had some darn good ones.

And man, the guest stars the show had. Wow.

That was from my favorites list. The episode is: "Eye of the Beholder", & the woman is Donna Douglas (the actress who played Ellie Mae Clampett on 'The Beverly Hillbillies').

Also in my list: "Time Enough At Last".

i love the one where the racist creep ends up in nazi germany.... a real tale of come uppance. nightmare at 20,ooo feet was very cool too. plus loved dan ackroyd in the movie.... do ya want to see something realy scary.....?

Mr. Dingle the Strong. Aliens doing an "Observe the reaction" type experiment meek little man the strength of Hercules. One of those just plain fun episodes.

I love the 2 Shatner episodes - 'Terror at 20,000 feet' and the one about the napkin holder fortune teller, 'The Nick of Time'.

'Time Enough at Last' is great, I love Burgess Meredith in that one.

'Caesar and Me' is great if you like creepy puppets.

Too many great ones to mention, it was on the whole an excellent show.

I believe that "The Nick of Time" is another Matheson-based work. So that's two you like that's Matheson related. :D

Oh really? Cool, he's a great writer.

Not a Matheson, I think, but another great episode is 'Living Doll'. 'Childs Play' owes most of it's imagining in that episode.

Ok, confession time. I created this thread to draw out my Secret Santa recipient to see if I could find or make anything from her favorite episodes, but that didn't happen. :lol

Loving all the input, thank you so much. I have TZ on a cyclic record, 10 episodes at a time always on my DVR. I save any that you guys have mentioned. :) :thumbsup

Time enough at last.
the episode where girl from bewitched and charles bronson are adam and eve after an apocalyptic war.
there's an episode with james coburn where the survivors of a nuke war consult a computer in a cave.
there is also one where the guy is rich and gets revenge on those who wronged him by faking a nuclear war only for his mind to snap and he's stuck in that reality.

I need to pick up those Twilight Zone DVD sets one of these days. So many great episodes. But if I had to pick a favorite it would be Nightmare at 20,000 Feet. I have that episode on tape and still watch it every month or so. Nick of Time is also on that tape.

Man I haven't watched The Twilight Zone in decades! :wacko

So many episodes to choose from (most of which have already been mentioned several times! :)).

A few of ones that stuck with me...

"Elegy": Three astronauts land on a Earth-like planet where everyone appears frozen in time.

"Twenty Two": A woman has a recurring nightmare of being led to a morgue in a hospital (Room 22), with a nurse who forebodingly says "Room for one more, honey."

"The 7th Is Made Up of Phantoms": A modern tank crew begins to see strange things while on war game maneuvers near the Little Bighorn battleground.

"The Purple Testament": A soldier can predict who will die.

And from the 80s revival:

"A Little Piece and Quiet": A woman finds a sundial necklace which enables her to stop time.

"Nightcrawlers": A Vietnam War veteran has the ability to transform his thoughts into reality.

Okay I just have to pick up the "Best of" dvd set now! :lol :thumbsup

The 80s revival had some really good episodes. sadly the one with the giant spider made me scared of the little monsters.

"Probe 7-Over And Out" which suggested that Adam and Eve were actually two different aliens who crashed on Earth. Can you imagine the balls it took to suggest that idea back in the 50s?
