M79 Blooper Grenades...


Got the raw castings as part of a resin "grab bag" - don't even remember when, how, or why.

Or who cast these...


But the casts are beautiful, regardless how simple they are. Just had to sand down the "pour point", wash, prime, paint.

And some very minimal seam work.

What you see here was maybe an hour's worth of work.

Not so fast...

Fragile paint surfaces have caused a re-do.

One is nearly done; the other I've taken back to primer to wet-sand and do properly.

It's great to rediscover ''forgotten'' props & get down to doing them at last ! Going through the same phase myself at the moment with model kits.

Finished the "nice" one...

Had some fallout collect at the base of the "brass" casing I forgot to clean up.

Not sure I like the black band. Or if it is even accurate...
