Farscape Props

id love to do one with the pop up siren type lights, i loed that feature. I thought about getting the one that pops up on ebay from time to time, but as you say, there are so many things that need fixing on it, i might as well start from scratch.

The one from ebay, is the one I'm working on. Unfortunately, not only is it inaccurate, but because I decided to take this on, when he wasn't posting any one the bay for a wile, I actually ordered through his web site, and he charged me like $15.- $20. more then the ebay price, on top of shipping. To make maters worse, when it came, the wholes shown in the auctions (for eye stocks and such) wasn't even drilled out, and I don't have a large drill, so I had to drill a 1/8" hole, for each, and file them out from there . :( Though he did through in a surprise. (a DVD with a star wars fan film on it. )

Building one from scratch is way out of my range, but fixing this one up, will give me a nice enough one.

I have reshaped the indentation on the front left side (were the gating gun would pop out on the real prop.) I reshaped the hole in the top right side (where you can see LEDs, and wiring on the real prop) Reshaped a few other small parts. I still have to do what I posted above, and make a little door for the access panel on the top left rear. (another part that goes on tope, that the maker thought should be an indentation in stead. :( )

If it hasn't dropped off, I have an old thread about all of this, where folks have posted pics, and links to pics. Just do a search, and if it's still around, it should come up. :)

Oh, and i haven't forgot about the pics for the D'argo mask, I'll have them up soon. :)

HM, I don't know, I remember these being a little more spot on, to what we need, but I'll post the picss anyway's. (the quarter is for scale of course. )

I think they are some kind of roofing tacks, I was thinking, if they would work for the mask, all you would really have to do, is file off the points that go down the one side of each one.

Well, I have 4 new questions, about different props, and since this is becoming the all-in-one, Farscape props thread, I'll just ask them here. :)

1. Was the site on the side of the pulse pistols really a laser pointer (not on the simple castings they often used, of course, but on the original,, or any of the "tricked out" versions) , and if so, witch model?

2. Did anyone figure out, what those tube things are, on the pulse pistol cartridges.?

3. Does anyone have any info on that rifle, with the short, gatling gun looking barels on the end, that we see in a number of episode?

4. Does anyone know where to get get a blue lanyard, like those on the IASA ideas? (or for that mater where do you get the ones on the ident chips?)

Not that I can tell. Some of them were whole:

But many had a screw in them holding them on:

Only once do you see the "laser pointer" lit up and that was with a regular red LED.

Pics are hard to come by, most likely they were custom machined like most things on the show.

Which one? The grenade launcher from the Shadow Depository in Season 2:

Or the flame canon from Season 4:

No idea but here are some pics:

The ident chip string looks like a crokie, those things you put on sunglasses so you can hang them around your neck. Later on they used regular dog tag chains for them as well.

Thanks as always, and you know, after looking at that pic of the ID, I think a blue shoe string might work. :) (or maybe ribben)

Hmmm I wonder if those ident chips could be molded and cast? I might have to try sculpting something and seeing how it turns out... Any good screencaps?

EDIT: OH WHOA! I totally didn't realize that Karlsweb was once again functional! The couple of years following PK wars half the links were dead and they said they weren't updating it anymore. But... it's aaaaliiive! http://starburstcards.com/KarlswebCostuming/ Check it out, they have a lot of helpful links and some really interesting props. There's a DRD on there that looks absolutely stunning...

A member died a run of metal Ident chips, a number of years ago, and recently sold off his last few. (as far as I know.) It could be pretty easy to cut a piece of aluminum. the right size, but putting the graphics on them would be the hard part.

Oh, and I recently found out that they did some licensed rubber, vid chip replicas. I scored one off ebay, a few weeks ago. (i'll post pics next week, when I get back form my trip.) It's not perfect, and it is rubber, not metal, but it's still kind of cool, and a nice place holder until I can get my hands on a metal one. :)

Identchips are midrange difficult as they're solid but have indents on the back. Vidchips are difficult as they have a cutout section in them and messagechips are easy as they're the same as identchips only thicker.

This rock and rivet are from the Middlehead shooting location in Sydney, not really props, but a part of Farscape history nonetheless.

OOPs, I knew it was 4 for the show version, but I didn't notice how many bands were in the ring posted early.

A few years ago when the info about them were posted over at the Farscape prop forums, I ordered on for pretty cheep off an ebay seller. It came, and I was very happy with it, then about a week later another one showed up, and when I told them about it, they just let me keep it. I gave the extra one, to my mom, and she got board one day, and took the wire off the back and un did it to try and figure out the puzzle. I don't think she was ever able to get it back together again.

thanks for the caps, i was too lazy to look em up myself :p I think this is it. Easy to find on ebay.
