Hi all!

I was wondering if anyone has attempted anything at making a D'Argo costume from Farscape - can anyone offer any advice/links/info as to how well the did or how spectacularly they may have failed :lol

Thanks :)

That would be a great costume(Great show). I bet the guys that have done Predator and Worf costumes could help you out.

That's funny, your the second person I've heard about, in the last month, that wants to do this costume. (My Girlfriends, sister's, Boyfriend, wants to go as D'argo to Marcon, here in Columbus, Ohio, in a few months.)

The nife he wares on his belt through out the series, and the PK wars, is just a cheep diving knife. There all over ebay.

Latex, or silicon applications will give ;you the best looking head tails/tentacles and face make up. However, either way, could be very messy, expensive, and could go very, very wrong. (It's "do-about", but if you don't have a LOT of experience with that stuff, I would get the help of someone how does.) I know some Star Wars costumers make there head tails, from modified, and stuffed, woman's nylons hosiery. (hey, there cheep, easy to modify to the correct shape, and come in skin tones. :) ) Plus, it would be like having little pillows on the back of your head, so you wouldn't have to take the costume off, to take a nap. :)

The cloth parts should be easy enough to do. Most of his costumes look a lot like patterns I've seen at the fabric stores (like Joan's fabric.etc. ) Heck you could just modify a bath rob, from the thrift store, if you can't do the sowing, or get someone to do it for you.

The comm badges is very easy to come by, they are all over ebay, and "Pilot" (a member here) used to hand unpainted resin ones out like candy, years ago, so some of us, have extras.

Also, check out the "Farscape Props" thread here, on the boards, we have covered a lot over there. Including D'Argos face Mask and goggles form "'Til the blood runs clear". (it could be a very nice, and fairly cheep way to go, and that way, you wouldn't have to ware all that face make up. You could just where the the full face shield/Mask)

I see the biggest problem bing the Quelta blade. (or how ever you spell it.) The licensed prop is crazy rare, and crazy expensive. And, making one that looks at all good, would be a nightmare. :( I've wanted one since I first saw it on screen over 10 years ago, and I'm still waiting for someone to do a run, or for the licensed prop to be sold dirt cheep.
