Fantastic Four First Steps Marvel Studios MCU

I am wondering why I am unable to see the entirety of the movie within the 1:37 trailer, as some are apparently able to do…

I look upon those whose foresight is far beyond my own with envious eyes as I struggle to form some overarching judgement of the work based solely on the trailer.

I am not up to date on the F4 lore. Is there significance to the trailer not acknowledging Reed Richard’s powers?

There is dialogue in the trailer on Susan Storm not being able to turn invisible before , Johny never catching fire, and Ben not being a rock. Nothing on Reed never being elastic.

Are Reed’s powers a reveal for another trailer or a plot point for later in the movie?

Alright alright. Point made, guys. I'm over analyzing it. Don't mind me. Carry on.

I only wish I could teach this ability. It's saved me a lot of money.

As a reminder, the best FF movie ever made has already been done. If anyone is disappointed by the new movie, we can always go back and watch The Incredibles. They got it right.

Much better trailer than the first one. Norrin Radd is the only Surfer though.

I'm wondering if they should've made a Silver Surfer movie first (instead of presumably doing one after this).

New trailer time!!!!
I've watched this several times over already. I liked the first trailer because it was simple. Got the point across as a great teaser.

This one was great!... but I'm getting some mixed vibes here. It's like upbeat> -what could go wrong?- > massive threat! > Age of Ultron heavy music of destruction and death > FAN-TAS-TIC FOOOOOUUUUUR!

Ya get what I mean??

It feels like they wanna put as much as possible with the Fan 4, by not making the first movie an origin story. Rather, here's what happened, here they are, here's the threat.

Except, he's literally not. Like, there are definitely alternative universe versions of SS, including Shalla-bal. And given that this doesn't appear to take place in prime MCU that makes perfect sense.

What the early MCU taught us is that the proper way to do these franchises is to use the first film to develop the characters and build the universe. Give the mythos a chance to breathe before you bring on the real the big bad. Had they shoehorned Thanos into the first Avengers movie it wouldn't have had the grandeur of the fleshed out cinematic universe that it did.

Galactus is such an awesome concept and character in the comics, his introduction in the same film that introduces a new multiverse as well as an origin of four characters just reeks of another desperate cash-grab festooned with cloying memberberries.

But I could be wrong.

Sure, but just like there's alternate Spider-'Men' and alternate Captain Americas, Peter Parker and Steve Rogers will always be the essential versions. I don't know, myself I've always preferred the OGs. I've never been interested in the derivatives.

This might be semantics but, if those are the prime F4 and prime Galactus, wouldn't that also be prime Surfer?

Not if they are from an alternate dimension to the MCU we have seen so far.
Also remember they have done a version of what some might call the "real" Silver Surfer in the earlier Fox FF films.
I think it's good to go with something fresh.

As others have said there is still scope to have Norinn Radd appear down the line although I think it is unlikely.
There is precedent in the comics for a Silver Surfer in a form other than Norin Radd.

Right, but since there's no F4/Galactus/SS in the prime MCU dimension (that we know of), wouldn't these be the prime ones?

I would say not necessarily, but then the corporate merger movie that was Wolverine and Deadpool muddied the waters with regard to Fox characters in the MCU, so who knows at the moment.
