Fallout New Vegas NCR Ranger Armor

so the last few months I have been working on my NCR ranger armor but never took the time to post it here, but now I decided to do it. so here it is.

NCR ranger helmet made from 4mm foam:


Fallout Weapons I have made so far:
.357 Magnum revolver


9mm Pistol with scope mod


Lever-action shotgun with homemade shotgun shells


Laser Rifle (not finished yet)


chest piece

I used my phone for the screen with a pipboy app installed

got the orange leds installed in the pipboy 3000.

Wow this stuff is great. The laser rifle is coming along really nicely. Your foam work is really neat too. Is the Pip Boy also foam?

yes, the pipboy is also made of foam.

Nice job, may I ask for a quick step by step on your paint method? My build looks ok but the paintjob is really letting it down, and that's basically the right color and weathering that I need myself.

Its really simply.
First I primed it, then i spraypainted it silver and for the weathering I just slightly hand brushed on dark gray paint.

Did you seal the foam at all before priming? Also I was curious about both your brushing method and the paint you used. I've been blackwashing with acrylic paint, are you dry brushing, and are you using acrylic?

yes, I did seal it before priming with a few layers of pva.

So I have spent the last few days making a combat knife from the game.

so I have started making the arm guard and handplate for the right arm and a handplate to go with the pipboy 3000 on the left arm.

Very impressive! Sorry if I ask some dumb questions, but I'm new here, and new to the hobby entirely. The entire helmet is made of the 4mm foam? Is that the craft foam you get at craft stores, or something else? What materials are you using for the laser rifle?

Yes and I bought the foam online and the laser is also made from foam.

the NCR ranger helmet is finished and has leds for the headlights and eyes, mini fan for the cooling and a mic wire that connects to a voice amplifier.
