Fallout 4

Yes they are. They are two different versions of one another. The same way you have two different versions of the T-51 suit between FO3 and FO4.

With the minor exception that the T-51 was always called the T-51 where as the X-01 designation is new to Fallout 4. Not saying there is no connection, I'm just not convinced that this armor comes from the same Enclave we've dealt with in the past if it was the Enclave at all.

The new "X-01" designation is to clarify the confusion of the "Advanced Power Armor mk2" designation that left opposing opinions between FO2 and FO3. In F2, there are two types of Enclave PA. They are both the same, but the mk 2 has higher stats and a different description. In F3, "mk 2" refers to the new armor. This would leave many people arguing about what exactly a "mk 2" variant actually was. Me and Stormie actually talked about it in a thread of mine once, and both of us were able to link opposing wiki's about it.

I'd assume that now the Armor from F3 would be called "X-02". It's my standing hope that they will add it and the Hellfire Armor into future DLC.

That's why i thought this was like a prewar prototype that might have had limited use or the enclave had soldiers hidden around after the war to monitor things and they turned this into the x02 we see in F2 after more development and that would lead to the other armors we saw in F3. I'd love to see a DLC suit of armor for the super mutant you can recruit, make him look like Frank from F2.

Well, one of the load screens specifically says the X-01 is post war, made by the remnants of the U.S. government. While the specific message doesn't actually say "Enclave", we obviously know who the load message is referring to. I believe that the game makers intended for the suit to be rare, as most would go out and explore early on, thus setting the armor spawns even if they didn't know any armor was there. On my latest playthrough, I didn't go and look for any armor. I reached level 30, and there were still plenty of armors to discover. After level 30, they're all X-01. Now I'm swimming in X-01 suits.

Now, with that in mind, I then go to the National Guard barracks and find a FULL suit of X-01 armor. Now, that's impossible as far as the canon storyline goes, there's no way a post war suit would be locked up in the Pre War National Guard barracks. It's just how they made the game. Honestly, I didn't care for this system they employed with the Power Armor "spawning". Should've been sets that were what they were, and they could've just made the higher up armors more rare, or hard to get to.

And yes............Frank Horrigan armor on a Super Mutant would be pretty cool. I've still never beat him.........

Finding out the mutant toe didn't work was a big surprise after going back to get it.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure he still stands as the most powerful character in the Fallout series. I know they had a couple guys with bad ass stats added in the Lonesome Road DLC to New Vegas, but I don't think they were nearly as tough as old Frank.

Come to think of it I never beat frank either, he just laid me flat out every time i tried.
They have an interesting voice cast in this game: the male survivor is voiced by the guy who voice wreck it ralph in the disney games and roland the ai in halo, the female survivor's voice actress is ada wong in resident evil now and Jack in Mass effect. They didn't bring in a ton of big stars this time, i am disappointed that Ron Pearlman got so little work in the game. Oh and Strong the super mutant is voiced by Goku from Dragon Ball Z, which would have been a more amusing voice for a super mutant. I was that the captain of the airship is Tuvak from Voyager. They do have well known anime/game voice actors though this time.

The only way I finally beat him was that I hacked the turrets in the room and they helped. I might be wrong, but I think there might have been some Super Mutant in a cave that had higher HP, but I'm not sure.

I am kind of getting tired of the same voice actors in every game. Except Laura Bailey. She has a great voice. Hearing Garrus in F4 kept taking me right out of the game though.

I got a laugh when the vault tech salesman sounded like grandpa max from ben 10 and the colonel from metal gear solid. By far the oldest actor on the cast as a paladin you save: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0649178/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t63. It's nice to see even at his age he's still acting. Turns out the guy who did Macready is the new leon kennedy in the RE games. I knew his name was familiar. I didn't even realize Garrus' actor was in the game until i looked it up. Apparently he's going to be Garrus again in a fan film called Archangel.

Is that thread even still alive? It kind of tapered off once the venting thread was started. I haven't played in a few days, been grinding away at this wiiu game that's massively open world even offline.

Speaking of the Enclave, I thought I was going to run into them today. Their patriotic music was playing as background in a community recruitment broadcast.

When you set up a recruitment beacon, tune in to that frequency. It plays the patriotic Enclave music. Only downside is that you have to hear yourself repeat the same message over and over again. Would have been nice for your character to try and be encouraging like President Eden only failing miserably because that's not something you do best... Well, not if you don't have a perfect 10 Charisma--

DANGIT BETHESDA! All of these opportunities to reflect your choices!

Screw it. I vote for an Enclave faction who aren't jerks and have choices to deal with every other faction that doesn't involve killing or destroying anything.

Update to plant withering: Most of my plants are unwithered again, I put some water pumps next to them and when I returned some (ingame) days later they were all green again! :) Seems like plants need water sources in a certain radius nearby to grow!

I built a massive tower in the centre of the Castle (which I use as my home base) in addition to sealing all the walls and fortifying the entrance. Now I'm struggling to light the whole thing for cool lounges on each floor. Damn copper is so rare in the commonwealth!
