Fallout 4

Are there any vendors who sell bits of power armor? I'm annoyed by the level-variability of the spawning. What happens if I still need/want T-45 or T-51 bits? What if I have zero interest in APA (I've honestly always hated the look of it, all the way back to Fallout 2)? I'm also irked that I can't A) scrap power armor, or B) rework a power armor piece into another power armor piece (e.g., T-45 torso into T-45 left leg -- maybe even T-51 into T-45, but I think not upgrading to a later version)... or power armor frames. Surplus of those is utterly useless. Can't sell 'em, can't scrap 'em... Just have to dump 'em somewhere. I'm doing fine on frames (and then some), but I need a few more arms and legs and helmets for my T-45s. Also, I know you can have your companion get in power armor. I know if you leave fusion cores in them in a settlement, folks there will randomly get in it. Is there any way to direct who gets in it? I've got eight nearly-complete sets of T-45 armor that I'll be upgrading to 'f' trim in a few levels, and that are all done up in Minutemen paint scheme. I'd love to equip all the Minutemen when I go to retake the Castle, but Preston is the only one I am at all sure I can do that with.

I'm still mixed on the building end of things. Most of my earlier complaints stand.

I'm still annoyed you can't romance anyone/everyone with a name (or at least attempt to), as is my girlfriend. She really doesn't like any of the male companions for that except Nick, and he's unromanceable. I didn't like Piper at first, but once she calmed down, I like her a lot. As I do Curie, as well. But there are still other minor NPCs I'd like to at least try with. :p Talia McGovern, Tina De Luca, Gwen McNamara, Polly the butcher, KL-E-0, Irma, Glory... and something even a teensy bit more substantial with Magnolia because frikkin' Lynda Carter.

And I'm still mightily miffed you can't say more about being a former soldier or your life pre-War or such like. Really curious about/looking forward to the first DLC, though.

Sadly there's only one group with power armor and that's the atom cats and they mostly have the 45 and 51 armor, they used to have x01 parts but suddenly those dried up. Well there is one other person but that's much later in the game so the cats are thebest bet but they're pretty far to the south east.

When you set up a recruitment beacon, tune in to that frequency. It plays the patriotic Enclave music. Only downside is that you have to hear yourself repeat the same message over and over again. Would have been nice for your character to try and be encouraging like President Eden only failing miserably because that's not something you do best... Well, not if you don't have a perfect 10 Charisma--

DANGIT BETHESDA! All of these opportunities to reflect your choices!

My favorite part is that you set up the beacon and it's in your voice, yet some of your settlers don't know who you are. I've had several warn me about starting any trouble.

Here's a page that has a list of where you can buy shipments of resources: https://www.reddit.com/r/fo4/comments/3sx1ot/im_making_a_list_of_shipments_of_resources_that/
You can also get a mod that makes more shipments available from each vendor as well as how much material is in each shipment.

I hope they make a mod to make xo1 parts spawn more and give me an elevator, i ended making my base a single room after all that work just to save travel time. Also I'd love to see a mode for piles of bones since when you throw them on the floor they just go wherever.

I also want some of those lights that rotate (don't know what they're called) to make warning lights that I'm exiting my hall of armor and I'm awesome. :lol

They actually have strobe lights in the game but I'm not sure if you can trigger them with a tripwire or not. I started working on a new building and cannot get interior walls to work of all things, i wanted to use them to line up my armors nice and straight but it's a no go. Maybe we'll get a mod that lets you set up a mech-like hangar from anime for suits of armor.

You guys are spending way to much time on the settlement stuff. I'm still out in the world with quests and I'm pretty much lined up to start various endgame tasks.

As for the armour parts - Teegan (sp?) on the Prydwn has some, t-60 BOS stuff for the most part.

I had a strange occurrence, speaking of armour, I found a place called 35 court in the downtown area. Up on top you fight a Protectron and Sentry bot in a very limited area and are rewarded with Armor in a locked room, You hit a couple buttons to open the door. Here's where it got odd. Through the window to this room and when the door opens it was a T-51, but as you approach and get the "content" listing it lists X-01. And when you step in and exit it turned into X-01 (I saved the video, but it was night time (the area is open to the sky) so it's all pretty dark)

But, but, but what is the game about if not about the settements?! ;)

I only very carefully explore / do quests as not to let the main storyline go on too fast (several people reported that a certain point everything accellerates pretty fast leaving you with a) less quest opportunities and b) a finished main quest) - due to the interactivity features of NPC quests may continue without of triggering it yourself. Huh.... :/

Actually most fighting / exploring I do is to get new settlements or to get materials (Wood! I need wood! Lot's of wood!!! :eek)

I don't have much else to do but the settlements, I beat the game lol. Yeah the armor in 35 court is a fluke where for some reason it displays the t51 and not the xo1 that's supposed to be there. It confused a lot of folks for a while. Edit: I just got the Fallout 4 art book and it is freaking massive. I preordered it at 35.00 shipped and it's a 49.99 retail on the cover so thank god for amazon preorders lol. It's 366 pages and looks like a hard backed phonebook. I got it because i saw detailed artwork on the breakaway parts of the robots and other stuff.

i'm thinking of picking this up... but was also told to pickup Witcher.... i like action, typically first person shooter, but the idea of getting into a sim.world would be cool. i played fallout3 but after i blew up nuketown, i was in like ~75hours and got bored... would i expect the same here? has anyone played both of these games?

I've heard witcher is good and the DLC were free, I'm waiting to see if it gets a Game of the year release.

The interior walls won't ever work unless you put in the roof or second floor floors in whatever shape room you want. If you do the whole second floor or roof it won't let you put any walls in. I don't know why they didn't think of fixing that.

As for the settlements, I'm tired of finding the settlements that have next to no room to build in. I found one near the water (forgot the name) and it has a little garage with a collapsed house and a hole full of mirelurks. There's so much useless space it's not really worth building there. You could maybe fit a few beds at most.

I'm still annoyed by those stupid plants sticking thru the floors and the huge pain in the rump that those foundations you can put down are. I put a bunch down and tried to build on them and the stupid parts wanting to stick to the outer part instead of sitting down on them. Kinda wish they'd offer prefab buildings that you can get if you have the materials.
My throne room: I was trying for a conan vibe but the bones wouldn't to where i threw them and i couldn't get the girls into bikinis to pose around like Frazetta piece. I've added pieces to the frames and all are 3 suits deep, sadly there's only 2 complete x01s at the moment.

Impressive. I did more of a mech bay approach with my Minuteman armors. Open-front garage-type building with eight power armor stands around the walls, each with a waiting T-45f (minus a a few arms and legs and helmets -- making for the Atom Cats soon...). Over in my house (I stubbornly refuse to give up my old home in Sanctuary Hills -- although it's changed a bit), I have the armors I use in their racks out in the carport. Mostly T-51 at the moment, as I've only found a torso and arm for my T-60 suit thus far, I still wish there were more finish options (like, any) for the Raider Power Armor.

Also wish we could trade stuff over the internets. I'll have no use for the Advanced Power Armor bits when I find them, and I wish I could send them to you guys who are looking for it -- maybe in exchange for the T-series parts I prefer...

I had the open garage setup when i first started, I may go back to it. The building system is so frustrating though at times. You should be able to even out an entire plot of land and automatically put down an entirely new foundation from scratch. I spend more time puttering around with my armors than i do anything else at the moment.
