Fallout 3 AER9 laser rifle

Ok so recently I've been trying to figure out what to do with my life, it's been a rocky road. At 17 i love building things and this will be my first ambitious project, maybe as a test to see if this is a practical job I would want to do. I've noticed a lot of people build the rifle so I'm hoping I'm as successful as the rest, what I'm worried about at the moment is the end caps. Here's a pic of my progress so far and I'll try to keep this thread updated. Any tips or tricks would be HUGELY appreciated.

Didn't have the jigsaw yet so haven't cut the stock out yet.

Good start man! I know how you feel about what you want to do with your future, back a year and a half ago, I didn't know what to do with myself, I soon discovered my love for props and costumes and never looked back. You mentioned you were worried about making the end caps, I would recommend making like an MDF or sintra "box" then round of the edges and use sheet styrene for the raised pieces. Volpin's write up on his AER9 should help out. Volpin Props | AER9: Once more, with feeling

Thanks for the feedback, I have been looking at volpins design as he does a great job and thanks for the tips, that's probably what I'm going to try to do, it'll be a first with styrene and sintra so hopefully it goes well
