Fabric Spray Paint?

Does anyone know where I can get some sort of spray paint but strictly for fabrics? I'm sure the answer is easy and I just don't know, but I figured this was the place to ask. If there is, a link or a place to purchase it would be fantastic.

If it helps, I would be spraying something made of wool felt.

I've seen some on ebay. Seems to be two types, one for stencil work on t shirts and the other for upholstery in cars and sofas. Limited colours available and don't know the suitability for wool felt.

Michaels. Generically, its called Floral Paint.

The brand name that is usually out there is Design Master.

Its usually used for silk flowers (hence the name), so it may be in that area of the store.

Ive stenciled many t-shirts in my day using spray paint and even acrylic paint. Any special reason you need paint JUST for fabric?

I would dye it, but it would be a hat, and that seems to be a bit difficult. How would I go about dying a hat? Mix up the dye and then sponge it on? You can't shove a hat in a washer or a bucket.

I need paint just for fabric because I want it to last and look good. I wouldn't want acrylic chipping off or giving a strange texture.

Yeah I've used the Simply Spray fabric paint as well. Just the red colour though.

I found that it was pretty light compared to the colour depicted on the bottle- instead of vibrant red, it was a little more pink.

Why not? What happens when it rains on cowboys? Their hat gets wet. I have a big head and I've soaked hats in hot water and stretched them over a bucket.

I would think that putting on enough paint to change the color would make it very stiff and plasticy. Haven't tried it though.

Also, could you give us a little more explanation of what you will be using it for? Does it need to be 3-dimensional, like embossing? Or is the spray paint going to be purely for coloring? Or designs?

It would just be for coloring.

Well, and I don't know much about cowboy hats, but aren't they treated? I would assume that their hats of all hats would be treated so they aren't ruined with that much abuse with water. Why wouldn't water ruin a felt hat that isn't treated? Water ruins regular wool felt...

Edit: I meant treated with some sort of oiling to make it water proof and whatnot.

Clayster, if you want more control over the amount of paint that comes out, go with a pump bottle. I bought Christmas Red in a bottle like this for my Ted socks. Tulip Fabric Spray Paint 4oz Carded Olive The aerosol can version squirted out like ketchup even after shaking it and ruined my first attempt at making my project.
