F and M Viper Mark 7 Finished

Well I have recently picked up a Viper Mark 7 and thought it would make a good WIP.
Especially considering I haven't built too many resin kits before ( I in fact ).
Started cleaning up the parts ans test fitting, I love the scale of this thing.
I think it comes out to 1/20 or 1/24.
Some of the parts are really well done and some have a few issues. Nothing unexpected for a resin kit.
It is really impressive how good this thing looks completed and I can't wait to put it on the shelf.
I will light the kit and try to light the helmet as I have seen others do this occasionally and it looks fantastic.

I want to also use magnets for the landing gear to switch out "hanger version" and "in flight" version, but we'll see if that works out or not.

Wish me luck and as always comments are encouraged and welcomed.

Here is the cockpit area, I've marked out the areas I want to channel out for lighting purposes.

Here is the nose section, I had to add some material to get it line up.
It looked as though the nose shrunk a little.

Some putty and trimming and it'll be good to go.

Thanks for looking.

Keep up the good work! Awesome piece once it's built. Mines still a bit far off from finished. The colour of the mk7 is something that is always a wonder.

Re: F and M Viper Mark 7 WIP

well its been a while since my last update, been really busy with work and life but havent forgaot about this kit sitting in front of me.
the one thing about resin kits is that there is alot of test fitting and "fine tuning" to get everything as it should be.
First up is the canopy... I didn't like that fit so tweeked it just a bit.

Next is body components...some fit well and others not so much.

After lots of sanding and a little time I primed, sanded and then reprimed with alittle bit of putty and rescribing, starting to look the part.

As far as the color goes I went with Tamiya Haze grey, It's darker than the referance pics but i think the color is perfect for this scale and looks "right" for the action shots and the full size set pieces.

All thats left fir this little gem is the helmet lights and the canopy to be glued down.
oh and the base, I'm doing something special for the base!

Thanks,
It's been a longer than I would've liked journey, but as I've been working on this I also finished my 1/350 tos enterprise and my nubsg cylon raiders and the tos cylon raider.
Plus tinkering with other misc models as I get inspired.
Trying to make room for new kits coming out. Its an addiction really, I have enough projects to last into retirement but still I can't resist another unbuilt kit on the shelf.

Worked on the base for a while today, hopefully will have something to show soon on that.

Re: F and M Viper Mark 7 WIP

well, finally finished the mk 7. still haven't finished the base but that'll have to wait a little bit.

Thanks for looking.
Now to start on the other 50 kits in the closet.
