Evangelion Unit-01

To begin, this being my first post on the RPF, I believe a brief introduction is in order. I study art at the University level and am a painter and a sculptor. I used to be an avid gamer, however I no longer have the time to play as much as I'd like. I stumbled upon the RPF a week ago and have been enjoying reading the project logs, learning new tricks and seeing awesome stuff.

Now, to get to the point, a friend commissioned me to make him a small model of Eva Unit-01.



Since I have never sold something like this before, I would like to know what would be a fair price for a custom sculpted model of this kind? I plan to make it some 17 cm tall (6.70 inches) at the head and made out of magic sculpt epoxy clay then painted.

Also looking forward to posting WIP photos.

We don't get enough Eva stuff on here, great to see someone doing it!

17cm sounds just a little taller than the Revoltech figure, am I right? As far as I can remember those cost around £30 depending where you get 'em from. So I'd say certainly ask for more than the commercial figure is worth, because this is a custom piece y'know?

I don't know how it compares to the Revoltech figures in height, but mine will be static, no movable joints. As for previous works, I only have artsy sculpts and boring ones at that. :lol This will be my first work based on some IP.

I am also currently working on a another project and my workload is pretty big, so I'm not sure how fast this project will progress, but I am hoping to have some concept drawings done by the end of the week, I already have a pretty good idea what I'll be doing, just have to get it in paper.
