Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

Has anybody created a replica of the Lacuna, Inc. letter from "Eternal Sunshine"? That's sounds like an easy prop worth replicating.

I liked this movie.

Are you talking about this letter? It doesn't look like much, hardest part would be the paper. The font looks like Courier but the logo is Times New Roman I think. Text width and height might be played with a bit too, definitely the spacing.

Yup, that's the one. I'm going to go ahead and start working on it right now.

From what I could figure, I think the size is 5X3 inches. What do you guys think?

Re: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind - Lacuna, Inc. Letter

Also, Courier is definitely the type. I'm thinking size 18.

This is probably my favorite movie. The message body font does look to be Courier (or a variant) with the LACUNA logo and address in different fonts.

I started a "memory fading" version:
(EDIT - See below.)

Do you have a guess on the small address font? I don't think it's Times because the "2" looks different...

I think it could be TNR, just pulled and pushed. I say that because the elements of the characters match (serifs, weight), it just looks spaced out and transformed.

Yeah, Occam's razor and all... I'll mess around with it later tonight and see if I can post something finished.

You know I was looking at this again and now I'm thinking the mystery font is Bell MT. It is really, really close to TNR, and the "2" matches the card.

No problem Spence, glad I could contribute. I'm lost with most of these props, ha.

Looks good Serenity. I've beeen wanting to put this together too in Photoshop, but I've had a weird schedule these last couple weeks.

I finally did one too. I think they used an actual typewriter to type it because the weight of the letters is so heavy. With photoshop, all the type is computer perfect. If you look at how most of the letters on the original are almost touching (especially on the "yn" in Kruczynski). That's a little tough to recreate without making it look fat and bold. I also fancied it up with color and texture :).
