ESB "Hoth scanner" prop - active project!

Here is a little trivia for you guys...lets start with the split clamp plus insert. As you can see there´s "ASSEMBLY" written on the side of the clamp, but the rest is too worn. Any idea where this might have come from?

And since the PL259 connectors were mentioned, here are some more shots of the antennas...

I've been working on a 3d printable model for a few months now. Using loads of reference photos, owning the V8 Engine model and with a lot of research for these parts, I've gotten quite far with it. It's actually almost finished, I've just been working on a few other models and things at the same time. But here's a quick photo of it so far.

There are some aftermarket universal motorized car antennas available. Not exactly the same mechanism as the original, but that's hidden inside the case anyway, so it's really just about an extendable antenna and the right metal piece that sits above the resin cast antenna base, correct?

These look about 90% accurate to me and can be had for under $40 online. Thoughts?

Couple of things I noticed and wanted to share.......
1. White Antenna Wire Covers - The bottoms of these have a base i.e. there is a surface on the bottom that is in contact with the scanner body. I 'think' the prop builder used a screw to attach the wire cover to the scanner body. A hole in the top of the wire cover allowed the screw/screwdriver to be used. Then they used the round/black fan hub (#103 V8 part) to cover up the screwdriver hole. I don't have a great photo of this area but you can see it here:

2. Clamps - The clamp holes are the same diameter as the round cylinders they are clamping:

3. Clamp/Clamp Cylinders - Just wanted to mention the clamps are aluminum and the cylinder part is stainless.

Oh i definitely don't know for sure! When I took a copy of the photo and edited it, I couldn't pull any more color out of that area that would make it an "8"

Admittedly I thought that was a B, and I flipped the photo immediately and tried to figure out what the letters were. I was so wrong, I realized the font... and that it was a fancy "3" and flipped it back :D
