ESB Bladed Stunt Graflex Lightsaber "The Core!"

Here is what I think is in this saber, minus the upper plug

You also have to access the underside of the socket to get the top out, those 2 screws go all the way through. The would have to put the plug in first, or take the core out, but that would be ESB time and creating them in the first place

It's very blurry, but this is a screen cap from the Lightsaber Bible by SethS

This is that shot that shows a Stunt being used as a belt hanger. Yes, that might be a black bolt, but I also see a split socket, once again.

Does the one on the right have a D-ring on the base as well as on the emitter shroud? sorry forget that it was later mod'd wasn't it. Is there a 'scar' on the base where a D-ring may once have been? forget all ytthat it has one doesn't it. I need to go to bed & get some sleep !

Yep! Actually it's got a rough cut circle underneath the Kobold D ring and its painted silver sloppily
Looks to me like it was a replacement rear half, not the original ESB stunt back half.

I spent time looking at that Christie's auction saber and it has the full plastic socket and a plug in the bunny ear ring. There is another graflex bladed stunt (looks like two in ESB) and the other has a fully black socket. No idea is it's just painted or doesn't have the upper core

What's the Christie's auction saber?

This is the only image I have of the Christie’s stunt saber (very poor quality).

Note the “low-rise” stunt grips, the strange D-Ring, and possible core mounting bolts on the upper half, and screws or rivets in the clamp (with corresponding holes that are very similar to the clamp used later on the ROTJ V3 Luke hilt):

Is there anymore pictures of this? I swear I seen this hanging by wires on display somewhere no?

I ask because is this a shadow or a bolt?

Looks like a scratch to me, apparently this was painted silver for some reason. I don't have a copy but Seth's guide does.

I can't see any bolts in this thing, and I can see the whole socket, no metal bracing the blade. Bunny Ears filled in

Thanks, Alley! I have to say, seeing that was a shock.

I had not realized this was a throwback design. SethS - I expect I'm late making this connection, but I hope we'll see some mention of the similarity in the new edition of the lightsaber bible!

Edit: I'm posting the Christie's photos over in the Rise of Skywalker Graflex thread because I think the folks over there would get a kick out of them. Let me know if that's a problem. Thanks!

Ha! I knew I saw it hanging, thanks Tom for confirming it’s not a bolt

Hah thank you!

Redbutton helped me figure this one out. I think I got a random machinist to cut some for me but i made one from scratch too. Hole is drilled using the Graflex socket as a guide, which aren't centered, but it does clock in at whatever orientation.

Used one of Redbuttons unknown replicas as a test fit.

Tom, saw your post on Instagram. I like it!

Any reason to why your using that 3/8 rod?

So, my initial solution to the exposed blade tang was to cut the head off a bolt and tap it into the core. I ruined that bolt getting it out so i have a threaded rod in its place

I also realized idk how they keep this core in place! The front screw cant get tapped in, the edge of the core is right where youd drill. And in ESB youd have a red button covering the back. Maybe glue?
