ERTL NCC-1701-E - not quite stock

I've been hanging out in the "Star Trek '09 - Convince Me" mosh pit for a little while, but figure its time to show and get input and critique on a current fun-time project. You know, actually building something instead of just arguing about it. Here is my early work on the ERTL NCC-1701-E as recently re-released by Round 2. Its mostly box stock but there are just a couple of places that could not be left alone.

The warp engines clear parts. I used transparent colors on the clear parts and then dusted with silver.

The Bussard collectors are backed with crinkled aluminum foil.

I added .015 styrene to detail the front of the engines.

The ship's right blue piece is over a silver base, the ship's left blue piece is over a white base. The one in the background is from 7 or 8 years ago.

The deflector trench is a total rebuild saving only the clear dish part.

And starting to detail the torpedo port / captain's yacht.

I'm not the biggest fan of the E-E but you seem to be off to a good start there. :thumbsup

Youre off to a good start, have you thought of using acreation models decal sets for this? they have schemes for both first contact and nemesis versions

Acreations decals look great, I've seen them used by others. What they would help most with is the complex random plating. I really want to try that as a painted process.
