Hello everyone, not posted in a while but getting back into prop making. I'm currently planning out how to make a 9 day pill traveler into a enterprise era scanner. Being a avid prop maker I'm really looking for advice as to adding the scanner sound effect to the prop. After watching all four seasons it's occurred to me like it's pretty much the same as the tng/ds9/voy tricorder without the ratchet opening. I had in mind using a USB sound card like you have in cards for the effects, the one I've looked at has different buttons so with each press it plays a different sound.

I have a few sounds on my laptop I think will fit the bill but any advice would be brilliant.
