Fixes to the model listed in the video include

- the “four lights” hotspots in the nacelle grilles (the light will be diffused)
- the iridescent Aztec pattern on the top and bottom of the saucer will be improved
- the base is being redesigned to eliminate the downward-tilt problem we saw in the prototype
- lighting effects like the phasers firing will be improved (it’ll be more like lightning flashes instead of blinking)
- adjustments to the lights in the base that point up at the ship’s registry
- “other kinks” being worked out

Let's keep in mind that the Travel Pod that brings Scotty and Kirk to the Enterprise in the film, is very very small. Also when it docks to the side of Engineering it would be tilted up a few degrees, not level horizontal as it looks like it does in the film.

I have to say, it's quite annoying that Tomy only post these videos to a private Facebook group, as if the content is super confidential or something. A ton of people these days avoid Facebook like the cesspit it is, you'd think they could post them to YouTube or something else that doesn't require an account.

Diffusing the nacelle lights was the only major problem imo, since fixing the tilt was obviously going to be done anyway. I'm more concerned about the structural integrity than anything else — the neck on the original isn't very stable, thanks in part to the detaching function. I'm hoping the neck and nacelle pylons are rock solid.

What issues are you having with the neck and pylons ? No issues with mine and I haven't used that extra saucer support from day one.

TOMY allows the use of third party shippers! It’s pricey but well worth it if it’s in your budget!

What issues are you having with the neck and pylons ? No issues with mine and I haven't used that extra saucer support from day one.

None with the nacelles, but the Refit pylons are narrower / more sleek, which concerns me. Also nothing major with the neck, it just flexes a bit because there's a ton of weight in the saucer, then a narrow neck, then a ton of weight in the rest of the ship.

Are you sure? I know they allow you to send the ship to a reshipper like Stackry, but I've never heard them allowing third party shippers direct from Tomy themselves.

That I don’t know! I just know TOMY was saying they will work with third party shippers. The nitty gritty details I am not aware of. But TOMY did say using third party shippers were allowed this time!

Yup check the TOMY+ owners page. People are suggesting all kinds of shippers to people! Pricey! But IMO worth the extra monies! That is if one can afford it!

It's worth it. I would do it if I had to. This will be epic just because of the complexity.

Honestly I could do the TOS Polar Lights 1/350 Model. TOS Enterprise is much more simple. Easier paint, and lighting. It's like the TOS is a dog bowl in art class and the Refit is the Mona Lisa.

Most can't build the refit. It is just to complicated. It's like Brain Surgery with no fancy medical equipment and most of us are simple combat medics.

My point is we never know what will happen. Tomy could go bankrupt, world could end, etc. so I would say do whatever you have to to get a Refit. The extra cost will be worth it.
