Look under your General Settings for "Default Thread Subscription Mode" by doing the following.
1) Click the gear icon in the upper right of any page
2) Click "General Settings" on the left side menu under the "Settings" > "My Account" headings
3) located the "Default Thread Subscription Mode" setting under the "Messaging & Notification" heading
Make sure it is set to "Do not subscribe".

Okay I think it was like that before but then I had to subscribe to all of my own threads.
I want to automatically subscribe to a thread I start or post in, but not receive any emails about it. This is how it used to be.
Will the above do that??

Set it to "Through my control panel only". That will make it so that you will still be automatically subscribed but no email will be sent and it will just list the threads in your subscribed list and show up in the first page of your control panel if there is a new post.

That is what I thought but that is what I have had it set to and it is still sending me the emails???

Check the settings for the thread(s) that you are receiving emails from to see if they are listed as "Instant". Click the gear and click the "View all Subscribed Threads" link at the lower right. Each subscribed thread with have a notification type listed on the last line. If it shows "Instant" you can change it by check marking the box at the right of the thread title and then using the "Selected Threads" drop down at the bottom lower right of the listings.
