i need to get something that will allow me to rotate a piece of plexiglass around, but not something that will rotate at 30000rpm. think a more sedate, slower pace.

any ideas on where to get a little motor to do something like this? i have a few small leads , but nothing has really panned out yet.

if it can be yanked out of something already existing (therefore giving me battery power and possibly a/c power), awesometastic.

any ideas are appreciated. just, not much luck with finding anything right now.

Would the turntable from an old record player work?

I used one for a project. The motor had circuitry on itself that I assume made it run at a steady pace. That was connected to a 12V power supply. The turntable was connected via a drive belt to the turntable. At the 45 RPM setting, you could either double the size of the small wheel (on the motor) or halve the size of the big wheel (on the turntable) to get 90 RPM.
However, you should also have in mind that it is quite big and not very strong.
I had found both the turntable and the power supply in a dumpster, so this was very cheap. :)
