EFX's TOS Battlestar Galactica Viper helmet???

Thanks Gene- was planning the wetsanding bit but is there a danger with the etching primer reacting badly with the existing paint?

On side note about the efx helmet: Noticing that the 'slots' on the bottom rear are not painted black- weren't they black on the original helmets?

I would think that once the paint is dry and cured, compatibility isn't as big an issue as it would be if the paint is fresh. I think the other key would be to go easy. Several light coats, dried - then a heavier coat. I've used the stuff over other paint and it didn't cause problems. But those 'tests' weren't an eFX Viper helmet either.......
