Efx X Wing

Wow, just when I think eFx can't improve on a replica, they make the thing edible. Only these guys can take a project to such new and exciting heights!!! LOL.

Awesome job Barry!

mmmmmmmmmmmmmm..caaaaaaaaaaaaake.

Okay. This is new to me. What is this eFX X-wing? Is it studio scale and is there a price as yet?

It is studio scale....No price announcement yet.....Lots of speculation.....At one time it was stated to be in the 500 area, most of the speculators believe that it will be more now.

I hope that you are wrong about that....I want one, but not for more than a thousand.
Well, the only reason I believe that it will go for over a grand is because during the 90's when the Icons replica came out it went for about $1,500. Having said that... this newer version seems to make the Icons X-Wing very inferior. And with the crazy prices some replicas go for, I'm sure that it will most likely go for well over a grand. It would be great if it does go for less than a grand...

Well, the MR Snowspeeder and the MR Y-Wing went for much lower than a grand. I don't remember how much the MR AT-AT went for, but I think it was pretty close to a $1,000. I guess there is still hope that the cost will be under a grand ...

I think considering the global economic situation, if priced too highly, it won't move. People are cutting back on silly extravagances, like toys. I think it looks great, but a lot of people can't justify four figures for stuff like this right now. I hope I'm wrong, as they put a lot of work into this. They should be able to make a fair profit for their efforts. Just kind of sucks to be in this kind of business at this time, I think.

I'm thinking less than 1000$ and here's why....WAY back when MR was putting this together we were hearing just under 1K and if memory serves, that was supposed to include a MR style base and cover as well.

Even though the economy is much worse now and the price of materials has gone up...simply getting rid of the large base and cover should keep the price below 1K I would think.

Also...I (and my wife...mostly my wife) am just really hoping it's less that 1K =)

I agree, getting rid of the base and cover, should keep the cost down, but I think it would be nice to give us the option of buying a base and cover, even if it did make it go over a grand. If you can't afford the extra cost, you can still buy the X Wing.

There's still a base..just one with a MUCH smaller footprint. As for me I'm just thinking it might be time to pick up some Death Star tiles and make a "base cover" of sorts.

Most likely you'll be able to get a cover from Rebelscum.com once this thing begins to ship. They have offered covers for lots of MR products. :)

It's also possible, with the current value of the dollar that the price will go up. Like the justification rumored for their clone bucket.

I hope so, but I've been trying to get a cover for my EFX Stromtrooper Helmet and the guy never responds to emails about them.

FYI...I asked about the release date at trivia on RS the other day and eFX was thinking it'll be more like January now.
