eFX X-Wing Update - 2/8/09

Hi Everyone!

We have good news for our U.S. customers! The boat from Asia with the X-wings will be arriving in the next few days and will then be going through U.S. customs inspection.

Unfortunately, the bad news is that the plaques are currently lost in the FedEX system. Ben Stevens from Official Pix had scheduled an appointment with Mark Hamill to sign the plaques for us last week and they were to be packed in with the models, here in the U.S.

Fortunately, they were not yet signed. We have now re-ordered the plaques and expect to receive them in the next few weeks. We will then schedule another appointment with Mark to sign the plaques for us.

We know that those who placed a pre-order are very anxious to get their X-wings, so for those who pay their balance in full, we will ship their X-wings immediately. As soon as the new plaques are signed, we will send it to you separately. As with all of our products, the plaques and the associated serial number will be randomly issued.

For those who chose our layaway plan, your plaques will be included with your X-wing model.

I have not seen any instructions on when or how to do this. Will an email be sent out, and if so, when should we expect to see it? Thanks.

I received an e-mail from Brian over the weekend instructing California customers that we need to complete a form and send it back. Did anyone else receive notification?

$337 for shipping???? That's about $100 more than it cost to get the Falcon over here.

You guys really need to find a way to piggy-back onto someone else's fedex account to get a better discount. Or offer a surface mail service (which doesn't have the same size restrictions as airmail) and would probably cost about $50 (it'd just take 6-8 weeks).

I'm investigating some other freight options. If I'm an international customer can I ship to a US address?

the nose looks fine to me. Thank the heavens.

the paint job is a bit "strong" but like we have all said before a repaint if wanted would take care of that.

panel lines look okay - at least the lines aren't white like was previously feared earlier on this thread.

the cockpit sits more flush with the fuselage than I thought it would.

any x-wing experts wanna chime in about specific pieces and such?
