The weathering is not good at all. It looks like they just misted the whole helmet with a spray can from a couple of feet away. The whole helmet looks to be covered in freckles. None of it looks like scorch marks or scuffs.

Someone posted a photo on the Rebel Scum forum that they had removed the blaster.

I dunno, that's what some of the originals looked like from what pics I've seen. They clearly just airbrushed/spray painted black splatter.

Yeah the originals had airbrush weathering including some splatter, but there's variety to it. The heavier black spots actually resemble scorching.

The EFX just has an even mist throughout the whole thing with some heavier concentrations of it. It's very rushed looking, but then again that is the crux of mass produced stuff.

I saw the original Scout Helmet that you posted in the picture above in person. It was definitely more heavily weathered/ sprayed than the Legends that I have seen so far. That is just how the original helmets were weathered and how they looked. If you don't like that you could try and remove the spray with a solvent of some kind. But would be very careful and test it on a small inconspicuous area first to see how the plastic reacts. I have removed paint from some projects of mine with ABS plastic using Methyl Hydrate and it removed it without harming the plastic, depends what kind of paint they used. But honestly I don't think it is worth it, these look close to the screen used ones.

It is not that of a bad helmet, but nowhere near the "Legend" status. The small speckles of paint all over the helmet is what makes weathering not accurate, not the large blotches of paint which are quite accurate.

I know this upsets the guys who got it and who will join hands explaining each other how good it is. In the end you get a mediocre helmet after nine (9!!) years, with a status it doesn't deserve, and from a company who really doesn't deserve our money after all this. I'd rather get the interest from the huge amount of money people sent to EFX back then...

They had 9 years to figure out how to make the absolute Scout Legend helmet, but they didn't care, and in the end they came up with something that my old Lonewolf Scout was more accurate than. Not to mention the RS Prop Masters Scout helmet which truly deserves the title of Legend - and also came with signature, and a Scout blaster, not bolted on a stand. Oh well.

How quickly do you think we’ll see casts of the blaster available?

That blaster must have been copied from a ROUGH screen used example (but the Scout Trooper blasters were NEVER as refined as the other Imperial/Rebel blasters).

I like the wonky casting of the blaster. It sucks it’s attached to the base but I remember hearing years ago that it might be affixed to a plaque or base so it’s not really surprising.

The screen used helmet I saw in person up close had speckles of paint all over it. Actually, a lot of helmets have that, such as the Boba Fett Helmet and many of the X-wing helmets.

I've handled my fair share of screen used props and helmets, including a Scout lid and even a Scout blaster, which looks more like the RS version than the EFX rough one.

Please read again my posts as well as Synz314's, I'm not arguing about the big paint blotches, but the fine regular mist and drops present all over the helmet. Looks like someone took a broom dipped it in black paint, put a helmet on a rotative stand and went splashing it with the broom

I found this image in my old emails from Efx. Correct me if I’m wrong but wasn’t the Legend edition helmet also supposed to be a signed edition by Nilo Rodis-Jamero?

It looks like they fixed it in the version they shipped, but in this older photo, is the scope on the wrong side???? I've only ever seen the scope on the opposite side of the transistor. Not sure how that would have happened?

Huh. Maybe the blaster and scope are cast as two separate pieces and whoever assembled it on that prototype didn't realize they assembled it wrong?

I guess? But the transistor side has all the "disc" detailing, while the opposite side is flat and even has a section cut out for the scope to sit in. The scope IS a seperate piece, guess they just really tried to force it to fit on the wrong side.
