Yeah, I know compared to the Legend helmet most people cast this one off as an afterthought. But it is really nice and I thought a few people might like seeing what the final product looks like.

First, Efx did fix the 'dome rubbing' problem by gluing felt strips in the packing material.

I don't have a proper photo set-up, so I shot these quick with my phone.

Here is the 6 feet back and zoom shot:

Gotta say thats one fine looking helmet and great pics as well!

Excellent pics! After comparing the two I wish efx hadn't bothered with the Legend Edition and just gone with the Limited (though no doubt that would have left a lot of us complaining about "why didn't they blah, blah, blah...)

The Gunmetal color is a lot darker then I was expecting and darker than I'm used to seeing on fan helmets.

I sprayed the paint on my helmet using automotive 'Gunmetal' and mine is lighter then the Efx.

Damnnnnn that is gorgeous. Yeah it is darker than I'm used to seeing as well but the paint app is beautiful in my opinion. Now I'm really considering picking one up, $800 seems like a great price.

Beautiful helmet!
After seeing this, I did a little research on a Vader helmet I bought in the early 80's. I always thought it was something of a collector's item, but as it turns out, it's one of the Don Post standards - the most mass-produced version. Oh well. Still makes a nice display.

As for a clean version of the ANH, this looks very nice, thanks for sharing pics.

Did anyone here get both a Legend and Limited? Would be cool to see the final versions side by side.

Yes, very nice pix. :cool

I tried to get both, but my buddy Jack got sellers remorse and broke it off in me. Er, broke it off with me. :confused

It would be nice to see a side by side comparison. Hoping to see my Limited sometime this week.

I had a real good look at both Helmets at C6... Took some photos as well. Not as nice as owning one, Super Jealous that you scored one, but as Keith states above its a really nice lid.

I took a bunch of shots of the domes. I was most impressed with them. It is fair to say that EFX is looking for the collector that is interested in shelf use, not really those that costume Vader. I think the build is solid enough, but will not take the wear and tear of an active Vader. I am working on a podcast on the lids now.

I like the paint up on them. Solid color work on these. I am wondering how thick the paint is though.

James -

Would love to see a pic of the helmet being worn with your Vader suit?

Regards,
Sean

Yes, eventually this will happen. My costume is packed up for now because I don't have any plans to wear it anytime soon, I usually only wear it to Cons and they are a great place to take pictures because of the open space and lighting but I wouldn't dare take the Exf to a Con.

We have a professional photographer in the family but he is usually busy all year except the first 2-3 weeks on January right after new years. I'm hopeful to take my costume and both helmets to his studio then for photos.

I have been working on an 1:1 ANH display Vader for some time. Using some slightly worn 7 year old parts from a trooping ESB Vader and a mix of new things as well. I doubt that I will ever pull it off as I like being married to much. But it would be cool to have a Vader display from each film.

I believe that Nathan said it best when he stated that eFx has aimed this helmet at the collector more than for cos-play use. Personally I do not see the price tag having anything to do with it. But you would have to really redo the interior to make it comfortable to wear and to have on your head for any length of time. And that bit of carnage would take away from the value as an eFx Vader replica collectible.

I just got the Limited also. It's an amazing helmet! Not all that different from the Legend, and I'm happy with my purchase all the same. I'm working on a custom helmet stand for it. Can't use the current one in my display just yet.
