Efx has a new $300 Darth Vader (precision cast replica) Helmet

Thank you Funky for pointing out the obvious. :lol

C'mon guys, most of you (I would like to think all) know the rules so it shouldn't have been a surprise when it was removed... but I guess when it comes to Vader helmets there is so much passion, anger, hate and craziness involved that the blinders go up pretty quickly. ;)

I was the first one to tell the 'seller' its no bueno to offer stuff outside the JY. I did forget to hit the Report Post button. But the Mods pooling funds to buy cool stuff is a good little conspiracy theory.

so pretty much its another legend vader or am i missing something? If it is its going to make a good dent in the current legend vader prices.

I certainly understand the frustration with efx... I'm really surprised efx is so unbelievably bad at communication with customers.

That said, I have one of the efx Vader ANH Limited Editions (not the Legend unfortunately) and I love it. I'm very happy with the quality and it makes me smile every time I see it. Scares the crap out of my sons, too.

I will buy one of the precision cast Vader helmet if they become available. I'm too scared of damaging my Limited helmet to ever take it out of the case. Having an ABS version I could actually use would be great!

I hope those of you waiting on Scout Helmets get them soon!

This will be ABS instead of fiberglass on the Legend (and LE). Open edition as opposed to limited editions on Legend 364 and LE 1000LE. No stand, no plaque on these PCR versions. As for denting the prices of the LE and Legend, that remains to be seen.

Who cares about the price of the Legend!!! I'm taking mine to the grave!

If it does drop, good thing, people might be able to find them at a nice price. All just won't be mine! :)

The Quasimodo doesn't even fall into the top 10? Can't seem to get myself even comprehend what your thoughts on their Darth ugly would be. God forbid people make amazing Vader helmet that captures the look and accuracy without charging $1000+ and waiting, what, years(?) to receive paid items. ***** Gino, I've seen your comments in the past on the RPF, but that whole line of dialogue takes the cake.

To add, bashing them for selling vader helmets unlicensed? Their original sculpts? How about your items back in the day? I've got one of them sitting on my display shelf, after all. You certainly weren't licensed yourself when they were being sold

It's certainly okay to be "elitist" in the sense you only want the best of the best but you cross that line in the OTHER definition of an Elitist that people don't favor. If you're planning on sticking with ANY company in any way, as involved as we all know you are with EFX, you'd better learn better PR.

I'd certainly put ANOVOS in the top 5 easily. EFX? It's not even on the list

ah ok understood. does anyone know what the original vader helmet was made of?

The original Vader helmet was cast in a white or off white fiberglass backed gelcoat. In some photos you can see the white where paint has scraped off. The armor and chest box were cast in the same materials.

Exactly. So the ABS Vader helmet is a nice idea, has an ok price, it is excellent for trooping, but in the end not as accurate as the LE and Legend.

What's the difference -- other than $30 -- between the Special Edition and the regular one? The website doesn't make it clear.

I have the Anovos on order, but the ANH is my favorite Vader so am contemplating canceling the Anovos... but based on EFX delays in the past, I might just wait and see if these actually start shipping in April/May.

Based on previous posts, I don't think efx will start taking orders until these helmets are ready. They seem to do better with delivering on the PCR Stormtrooper helmets than other products.

It is odd that they have two versions but do not indicate the difference between them other than price.
