EFX DARTH VADER ANH PCR HELMETS (SPECIAL and STANDARD EDITIONS)

I also ordered one of these helmets ..hope I have it tomorrow.
I must see how the facemask is built together...so it could be easy to mod the sidetubes a little bit. After that I wanna repaint it like the EFX Legend and add some layers of fiberglass inside the dome and the mask.So I have a "cheap"Legend with a paintjob that is perfect in my eyes.I hope..haha..:lol

I really love this pic(I think its made from Art)...wanna repaint my mask in the same way...

Usually brake fluid can be used to remove paint without harming injection molded plastic. It's not instant. Test the fluid on an inside surface first to be sure it doesn't craze the plastic.

Use Tamiya Acrylic paint for the Scar...you can easy remove the paint with water(before its dry)when you´ve done a bad job and start again.
I would use Semigloss black or normal shiny black to paint the scar thinner. You must look whats matching more.I would
use a very fine brush and only little paint.

Are the black areas not painted on the helmet? If thats so I would not use chemicals or scratching tools on it.Only fingernails and patience..ev.a little bit cooking oil.
This shiny PC plastic is very sensitiv. So I think the better way is to paint the scar smaller when you cannot remove the paint with a fingernail.

Got my helmet today.I´m really surprised how great it looks.
The paintjob is very clean and well made. The black areas are bare plastic and not painted. You can easy polish it with novus to perfection.
I also love the lenses..very clean and a great color.
The plastic of the neck feels a little bit toyisch and is very thin. But its not breaking...a solid material...with some layers of fiberglass inside it will be very sturdy!;)
The only thing I don´t like so much is the shape of the sidetubes...I will rework them before I repaint the helmet. The parts of the facemask inside are connected with metal "clamps"under the foam.I have no idea how I can remove them secure.I´ve never seen this system before.
Perhaps GINO has some informations?
I will make some pics of my helmet tomorrow under daylight. Its too dark now here in germany.

Made some fast shots in the kitchen today when it arrived...

I saw a prototype at Wonder Con and I don't remember it looking that bold and obvious.

I must agree with JKNO. That c-scar is.... odd. I have the regular version, & think it looks fantastic. I was planning on picking up one of these, since I was not able to get the Legend. However, after seeing how this c-scar looks, you might have saved me money. I'll need to wait for more photos.

The official word from efx is that the c-scar is a stamp. All special edition helmets will have the same c-scar. Needless to say I'm not happy. While I prefer the gunmetal I will have to paint the scar myself. Hopefully Gino can chime in with some tips...

Bring on the repaints! If someone does a good tutorial, I might have to pick one of these up.

Ok..here are some pics of mine...its the standard edition:

WOW....

Looked at buying the Special Edition from the EFX site but the shipping costs!!!!!

To get the helmet to the UK -

$375.63 Fedex Economy or $430.05 Fedex Priority.....:confused

That's without any tax's.

Shocking!!

Haha..yes..same for germany.I would pay over 750$ for a SE direct from EFX...plus 19% german custom taxes!:lol

Holy macarena! EFX hasn't learned a thing regarding respect for international customers since the Vader Legend outrageous shipping quotes. Lack of communication, lack of proper customer service, lack of QC, crazy international shipping, all the qualities necessary for a serious company LOL...
