Re: eFX ANH Vader?!?! WOW

Why would one want to replace the SL face? It is a direct casting of the Tantavie IV helmet? With even the same eyes.

Hmm.

I know there are things here that I haven't kept up on but I don't understand at a glance.

Not taking away from the others though. The other face does indeed look amazing.

Trust me John, I've asked myself the same thing...

Re: eFX ANH Vader?!?! WOW

Carsten, I am not making generalizations at all. I am stating what is a fact. Some of the Den members love the helmet as is. ALL of the complaints in this thread have come from Den members. That is not a generalization. That is a statement of fact.
WOW... just WOW...

I can't even begin to comment on something as idiotic as that statement.

The comments are from RPF members. Are the RPF to be branded like you do with The Den as well, just because you disagree with some users?

Let's see what this kind of thinking resembles. The US & THEM mentality: if you are not with us you are against us. Is that what you are trying to say here, 'cause it sure sounds like it.

I don't agree with you, but you don't see me making comments about that propaganda forum that bans people left and right for nothing. Should we begin a stupid war of insults and overgeneralizations and dismissing people we disagree with by just calling them : that forum people.

You are making it personal for no reason.

Bah. Lame :thumbsdown

You have fun with your dismissing attitude against other people. I'm not wasting another post on you.

Re: eFX ANH Vader?!?! WOW

I have a question about the C-scar. You say it appears on the SL, right? Does that mean it was part of the cast? If so, could that blemish be in the paint and being part of the paint have been picked up in the molding process IF the Baker mold was made from a painted Tantive helmet?

I am happy to answer questions about details. :)

Yes the C-scar is part of the casting on the SL or DJ or eFX master, since it was on the original ANH mask when it was molded. It would have been on the original mask in the paint, as it seems a layer of gunmetal to the left (Vader's left) of the scar flaked off, leaving that distinctive pattern on that right cheek. So yes it was captured in the molding process.

Re: eFX ANH Vader?!?! WOW

I wasn't implying replacing an SL face guys, I was talking about doming a domeless face with an SL dome........LOL.

Re: eFX ANH Vader?!?! WOW

We excell at that sir!!!! :)
Personally, let's leave the Den out of this discussion. This ain't the Den. If you want to have the Den involved in every vader discussion.............go to the den. The RPF has been around since before the den and it will be around after the den dissolves. To folks who don't have a clue what the den is........you may as well be discussing a troupe of rabid spidermonkeys for all they know. Let's avoid the den in these parts. It's not helpful here.

Re: eFX ANH Vader?!?! WOW

You Vader guys are officially worse than us Fett guys...haha

Isn't that the truth.

thank god I love ass and boobs more than Star Wars :lol

Just as an aside - since I won't be getting a SL, TM, DJ, DM, ABC, DEF, GHI helmet anytime soon. I'm getting this one because it's a really sharp casting.

I for one would like to thank all of you vader nuts for nitpicking this into oblivion. It really does help us mere mortals know exactly what we are getting.

I still hold that you guys wouldn't fight so much if you didn't care about vader. Are there other issues and agenda's involved? sure...but through it all a good reader should be able to make their own judgments about the piece.

I'll be very happy with a efx helmet. Hopefully they'll make enough of the limited edition so I can get one.

So, in keeping with this, sculpt accurate is no scar, screen accurate is the scar. Some of this I do know, but I always look to add more knowledge. I don't see a problem adding it to the paint job if it were removed from the casting.

It seems as far as details go, we are pretty much there with this offering.

I'm posting this for all the people who don't know a thing about what most of you are complaining about and REALLY don't care. I've never been able to afford one of the helmets that are being discussed and would not know one if I was wearing it, which is probably true for a lot fans like me.

This is the best Darth Vader helmet that is available or will be available to someone like me and that is all I care about.

After following this thread since it started, it is getting harder and harder to wade through all of the bashing and whatnot to try and learn anything of value, so I'm not going to bother with it anymore.

Some of you really take the fun out this hobby.

Well said AJK, that's precisely what eFx is offering. Something the vast majority won't have access too. Most of the people in our very own community won't have access to something this nice. Don't think of it as sucking the life out of the hobby man, it's all good, some guys are just more passionate about pips and squeaks, others just want an overall nice hunk of plastic. The beauty of a forum like this is that we are free to voice what we like and don't. Sometimes in the translation, people who were previously unaware, learn a few things about what makes this helmet or that one unique. Nothing wrong with a little education. :)

Dave

PS Qui-G, I agree that if eFx had to remove the scar for the benefit of the masses, but were nice enough to add it back in paint ops for us propsters, it's better than nothing.

Re: eFX ANH Vader?!?! WOW

Its only missing a perfect ANH dome, but it has the best ESB....could live with that.

What I wouldn't give for an SL dome over a TM face. For me that's the best of the best of all worlds. :) Only thing I wish wasn't on the TM is that wonky neck trimming/extension doo-lolly. That is too much alteration to make it the right shape and size. Takes too much away for my tastes. Perhaps this eFx helmet would fit both bills. What are your thoughts?

Thanks, I'll try to look at it in that light, but when the screaming starts, it is a little hard to do.

The neck extension is easily trimmed away.

Wow, I can hardly keep up with this thread. Everytime I take a break from my computer another 15 pages gets added:lol
I'm actually looking forward to hopefully getting one of these helmets if I can that is.
I will have to go with the hand brushed look version as it holds more of that look for me.
Unless of course I get the chance to own a SL, TM, etc.... one day.:love
