Edward Elric foam Arm Build

I am currently making a Edward Elric arm and chest/backplate for my brother's Elric cosplay, I am making it out of the 1/2 EVA foam. It is thick but it works for accuracy for the arm. I am waiting to get a knife that can cut the foam cleanly before I cut the template out of the foam sheet, I did the test arm today. I plan on making the shoulder pieces out of the same foam, the chest/backplate I am unsure how I will pull that off. The hand will be made out of either cardboard, or if I can find it, some thinner foam.

If anyone could help me out, this is going to be my first official build that's not all practice cosplay. I'd like some advice or tips and I will post pictures once I cut out the pieces that will become the actual arm. Oh and if I posted this in the wrong place, please feel free to move it >.<;;

Okay I need some help. Unfortunately I don't have a camera at my disposal atm so pics will have to come later. I am going to use Bondo to fill large gaps on the foam pieces so that I can sand it down to make it look uniform. What do you all suggest I do exactly? I've never used Bondo before so I would like some tips if that's alright.

First off, cool project idea, good luck with it, with patience and hard work you can pull it off. I don't really know about Bondo, but in my mostly lurking on theRPF most people seal their foam somehow, often with PVA glue, before adding any sort of resin to the foam.
I could be wrong, never having worked with Bondo before

Nope, you are right.

Seal it with elmers, PVA, something. Otherwise the resin in the bondo will melt the foam and ruin all your work.

Thanks! I will get pictures up as soon as possible! I have a method I am going to use for sealing the foam before adding the bondo body filler. TheHeroTutorials suggested a really cheap and non-toxic way of diluting Tacky Glue and then doing about five layers on each piece. Then painting it. I'm going to use that approach this project. I really am hoping to make it accurate to the design in the show, while making it still functional for my little brother.
