With the price of metal 3D printing dropping I decided to print my Stunt Christopher Eccleston Sonic Screwdriver in stainless steel. The stainless steel print looks like cast stainless. It doesn't look like aluminum so it's not 100% accurate but looks and feels like a real tool. It's kind of a bargain metal sonic screwdriver. This is a stunt version, it has no moving parts or electronics... but that is in the pipeline. Take a look and let me know what you think.

It was right around $100.00. It is hollow to save weight and cost... and in the hopes off adding an LED (light) in the future. I had the model for a while, but it was a little expensive. Shapeways cut their metal printing prices something like 40% which brought it into my price range. PLEASE NOTE: I AM NOT SELLING THESE!!!

Thank you for you encouragement Felgcarb and Phez.
I do this for fun, my goal was not to spend the rest of my life creating the most accurate sonic screwdriver ever... I just wanted to make one myself for fun. My goal was that if I showed it to a fellow fan they would recognize it, that's all. Thanks for looking and commenting.

I think you've reached your goal. It should stand up to more abuse than the plastic ones. Good job.
