eBay snag of the week--I'm in the MPP club

Snagged this little gem on the bay yesterday after ten years of looking. Didn’t even snipe it. I actually had a family thing yesterday and was out most of the afternoon. Thought for sure some Japanese guy with a ton of dough would get it, but the Force was with me. Was shocked and thrilled to learn that I’d won it. It feels good, boys, it feels good.

And I wasn't even looking for it. Found it by pure luck while searching for something else.

Sabers might be passé for some of you, but I couldn’t love them more.

Don't know what the shipping is yet since it's coming from England, but the flash itself was roughly $80. I'd bid higher, but that's where it topped off. I thought it was a good deal. Keeping my fingers crossed over shipping.

Nice!! Can't even get a decent graflex for $80 on ebay. I'd say you did well! So when do you get your secret decoder ring from the MPP club? That's the best part from what I hear..

I remember when you couldn't touch an MPP for less than 2,000.00!
Good job! :thumbsup

Congrats! Nice to finally have something pay off, isn't it? You can thank the economy for the sweet price. Everything Indy is dead as...dead.

Congrats PD, couldn't happen to a better guy. :thumbsup

I'd say that it's good karma payback related to your free junkyard items.

Wow, times sure have changed!!! :eek Congrats!!!

The listing was for the flash specifically, with MPP in the title? Or did you find this gem in a lot with other pieces? What a great find and price!

Congrats man!

Now comes the hard decision....WHich version of Vader's saber are you going to make?
Will you keep the lever rod or replace it with a nail?

So are you going to "flip it" and make some SERIOUS cash?
Absolutely not. This stays with me.

No MPP in the title. I initially was looking for a paper safe, which is like a light-tight plastic box that holds photographic paper. Couldn't find what I wanted, so I broadened my search to "darkroom equipment" and the flash showed up with a bunch of other things. As you can imagine, I all but fell on the floor. I figured since it was so terribly described I might have a good chance, but there are some savvy searchers out there on the bay. It was pure luck.

In a way, it's like how I found my first Graflex. Was on a biz trip and during the lunch break I took a walk to get some air. Happened across this beat-to-hell camera shop, so I went in and asked about a lens shade for a Yashica TLR, which I wanted for my brother. When paying, I noticed some press cameras on a shelf, so I said to the cashier,"do you have any flashes for those?"

She reached up and touched something but immediately put it back down and then grabbed a Kalart flash. Blah! "What was that other one?" She reached for the "other one" and put it on the counter and there, oh my brothers, like it was waiting for me to come and get it, was the sweetest Graflex 3-cell you ever saw. "How much?" said I not trying to wet myself. "How about ten bucks?" We had a deal.

ANH all the way.

Congrats!

I did the same thing awhile back. I picked up two MPP's about that cheap that I also found on accident because they were poorly listed.

Okay, first you suck and I hate you.

Second, WAY TO GO BRO !! Awesome score !! Could not happen to a nicer guy then you PD.

God I hope someday I'll be in the MPP club too.
