Has anybody seen the ANH DL44, offered by ebay member "j_miller100" ?...what´s the source for the conversion kit?

Besides of the fact, that the blasters description speaks more of the seller EGO, than of his knowledge of the actual filming prop, it is misleading in some areas (filming prop being a MGC, parts being "metal BUT NOT aluminium" (WTF?)). He also did not make any efforts to fit the bull-barrel properly, yet insist of his setup being absolutely movie-accurate...don´t get me started on his "factory fresh" paintjob. :rolleyes

opinions?

But according to the seller it was made by a "professional prop builder". Are you saying it's not screen accurate? No one on eBay could be that misinformed/dishonest.

LOL!!!!!! :lol

Yeah, a $600- $700 C96 and a kit from Todd or DEC and you have a much better piece for the same price!

I was just talking about the eBay and how the DL-44 is becoming the new Graflex. This guy is crazy, $500 to start all plastic except the denix. Then $250 to upgrade to a metal scope/ scope mount. I think he offers that option then buys from ToddsCostumes for $200. The flash hider and bull barell look like a DEC. The model gun in his post looks like a mix of DEC and Todds parts. I wasn't around for the original run of steel DEC parts, but maybe the scope is from that. The sight knob doesnt like like the aluminum/ pewter DEC.

They are the only two I know of that has Hensoldt Wetzlar engraved on the scope. Definately seems like a member who who has recasted. Here's a couple pics, maybe Todd and Dave can tell us if its their work or not

Someone else blued/ AB'd a DEC aluminum and pewter kit, sold each piece individually on eBay and each piece went for $150 - $200. I messaged him and he said he only had one and didn't have the time or money to buy others.

I messaged this seller and asked where he gets the parts (are they his, did he sculpt, etc)

Says hes only got the metal parts for two of them, but I'm sure hell take your $500 for some recasts! Ill post back when I hear from him

The one Markus is talking about look like a Todd's Scope and mount, and DEC bull barrel and flash hider. The grill... not sure... maybe evolution props?

It's a mashup, and not done well. Hell, none of the ebay ones are done correctly.

Yep, definitely not worth the ridiculous price hike. The scope, mount, FH and barrel are all Todd's parts which can be bought and assembled for so much less than this guy is auctioning these for. Todd even sells a complete for $399 which appears to be assembled much better than this guy's.

Not to mention the excessively thick gloss paint and el-cheapo grill..:facepalm

To me it looks like FH and barrel are DEC because of the aluminum, bullet knurls, and bevels.

But yeah... there's so much wrong with that.

You could be right, without better photos it's possible it could be a DEC FH and barrel. Now that I look at it, the barrel is a bit different than Todd's. But I think Todd's latest FH's have bullet knurls now, and the main giveaway that the FH might be one of his is the worn body knurl towards the recessed band.

I said it elsewhere in another thread, but man I wish eBay auctions allowed comments so you could do a public service and warn off people from getting taken advantage of. Also, there's a lot of sellers I'd love to ask if they are out of their damn minds.

I dunno. If you look at his sales since Dec. (pretty timely I think):

His stuff is pretty much good enough to thrill the average no-other-choice-but-Rubies-or-MR-crowd. He sure isn't selling these to RPF members and some time was put into these. I'm not justifying the workmanship or outrageous claims but the guy is filling a niche and getting some bills paid doing what we love to do...

erg, that grill is painful to look at. I used a Blast tech one on mine and i regret doing the research afterwards :lol

The guy messaged me back and offered a much lower price ($700 all metal). He seems like a pretty decent person and isnt trying to hide anything. I asked which parts they were and he said Todds scope and mount and DEC flash hider and bull barrel. I wanted to ask if he was a member here but decided not to.

Not sticking up for him, but again he seemed not to be trying to hide anything, answered every question I had. He said he started building these because he couldn't afford a MR, enjoyed the build so much he wanted to build more.
