My new scratch project: Droideka in 1/12.
Started with the legs. The pattern drawn in Illustrator:

Cut from 0,5mm PS sheet and the 6 layers glued together:

I'm trying to make them moveable, so wish me luck...

The two printed halfes of the hip sphere. Glued together and sanded:

Thanks!
This is so awesome. I've wanted Bandai to do this for a LONG time.
Good luck, buddy.
Me too. I always want an footman for my Bandai Grievous…so bored of waiting for kits that never came…that's my main motivation of scratching this. I hope I can to match the level of detail.

I've managed to glue one rail. And the neck sliced smooth.
But as I start modeling the head for 3D printing and study the reference pictures, I realize that the shape of the shield is not correct! :(
I remodel and printed it (with the rails for the neck :D )
New one on the left, wrong shape on the right:

Here's a video of the sliding neck (sorry for the bad quality - need more light  ):

And one with the poseable leg.

This is really cool.
You made the legs the same way that John Goodson made the original maquette, by stacking layers of styrene.
Keep up the good work!
