Driving a Delorean on the Rails in Port Hueneme, Ca

Last weekend myself and group of my closest BTTF friends visited Port Hueneme, Ca. and put a Delorean Time Machine on the tracks.

The Car is owed by Charles B, the Hood box was built my me, and the train wheels were found and modified by me.

This was done in connection with the "We're going back' 25th anniversary of BTTF celebration.
A pair of tour buses loaded up with BTTF fans from around the world visited a bunch of the filming locations in the LA area, the last stop on the tour was the Rail Road Crossing from the end of Part III where the Time Machine meet its end with the locomotive.

Here is the video from the event.

Wow, there is a name I haven't heard in years....Port Hueneme.
Lived there for many years....there used to be a bar/grill on the
Ventura Blvd that made the best burgers. It was near that Alpha Beta
if memory serves, wonder if its still there.

"You built a time machine out of a Delorean?"

Immortal words... second only to "Luke, I am your father!"

Nah, Alpha Beta went out of business a long time ago.

What a cool Delorean and stunt! Thanks for sharing that, too cool!

It was a huge team effort. And it was a hell of a lot of fun driving it on the rails. Also awesome to see everyone's faces as the DeLorean came down the tracks from the distance. Minds were blown.

Next up: working hover conversion ;)

I've seen some nice time machine replicas but never one with the train conversion! I bet that REALLY made everyones day! :)

If you do the hover conversion... I think you win the game of RPF. The board just shuts down at that point! LOL!

Seriously though, really cool story and car. :thumbsup

Love it! :love

Great job. I've been trying to find video of this event since I saw photos of the car on the track. Honestly, I always thought the car they used in the scene was a 1:1 scale model constructed to fit the rails. I never thought that, even with the modified rail wheels, that a real DeLorean would fit on the tracks. Again, great job! :D

Thanks. :)

It was one of those things that people would tell me couldn't be done... I have a way of constantly proving those people wrong. ;)

With the stuff I have seen and experienced lately, it really puts some weight behind Doc's words "if you put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything"**

**(wow, was that a geek moment or what?!) :lol:lol:lol

Amazing Charles! I know how you guys strive for accuracy but hopefully you guys ran this on tracks that were shut down:lol we wouldn't want to recreate that scene perfectly.

Great Job guys.
