DRIVE (2011) Scorpion Satin Jacket

Can't believe I haven't posted yet.

I was looking heavily into buying steady's jacket for a pretty long time. The sizing is intimidating though.
I know Indy's will probably be better; so i'm most likely going to buy his.

I saw a guy wearing one of steady's jackets last night though. It is pretty recognizable and is pretty high quality.
 
LYNN, there is a picture on page 45 of a female member (etchoutyourbark) wearing her XS jacket. She gives her height and measurements so this might give you an idea of how the jacket would fit you.

This is the jacket made by Steady Clothing which is being sold by Steady, Daddy O's, GetGoRetro and other companies.

Alternatively you could get Indy to make you a custom fit jacket.

And we have nearly the same height, so I think the XS will fit.
Now I can't wait to get one, too!

Gaspar Gloves wrote me yesterday, they can make a custom order for me in size 6. It will be around 210-220$. But when I think on the customs here in germany... it make's me sick... :sick
 
I contacted the Italian jacket maker to see what they have to say. It seems very sketchy at the minute.

They are 'exactly representative' of the picture they have up (movie screenshot) and they have no pictures of the actual jacket yet. They said they post next week, although there has been problems with snow - 'so we hope they [courier] can still pick these up from us'.

I wouldn't touch with a barge pole.
 
I cannot understand any company not posting pictures of their actual product.

As you can see from the Steady replica and the version Indy is developing, it is very difficult to make an exact copy, even if you have an original to copy from in your hands.
 
I also had contact with this italian seller, maybe two weeks ago.
My opinion? Keep your hands off!
In my eyes this seller isn't serious... you don't know what kind of jacket you will get.

It was also very difficult to communicate with them, because their english was really bad... (sorry, my english isn't perfect too, but this was horrible)
it sounds like they use a online translator from italian to english. The german was not better at all. :confused
So I tooks several attempts to tell them exactly what I wanted to know about the jacket.

As an aside, is there anyone in the US who can try and source me some Taupe Stacy Adams Madison Boots Size 9.5 or 10 US. I cant find any anywhere.

Yeah, that's another consideration regarding the embroidery. Sure, the long strand method is more accurate, but after a couple years of wear, the embroidery will have pulls, runs and likely gaps forming. The jacket won't look so cool any more...

I'd like to see a more accurate design as well... If it isn't too crazy to do. I might be interested more in accuracy over total durability.
 
Unfourtantly they are sole out everywhere in Taupe. I haven't been able to find the Taupe in any size.

On another note, any idea on the Selima Optique? I might actually buy the money 2's, but they're $410... What are your guys view on that?
 
Got my jacket today. Love it. Very happy with the quality. The cuffs and waistband are as everyone described but since I expected it I'm not at all let down.

I ordered a large. I'm happy with the fit too. Sure I could go with an XL and have a bit more room, BUT I need to lose 10lbs. anyway so this will be a good motivation for me to do that.
 
I bought them at them at the mall at one of the stands. they were like $8 I think.
