DRIVE (2011) Scorpion Satin Jacket

When you're... | Facebook
"When you're ordering the "Drive" jacket, keep in mind that the measurements are of the jacket, not the person wearing it. Our best advice is to find a garment in your closet that fits you perfect (or how you would want the jacket to fit) and measure THAT item and compare it to the jacket. Don't buy the size that matches your body measurements, or it's going to fit you skin tight :)"

That's a great point! I can't believe some of you guys who are 6' are ordering S or even XS. If I were you I would just go down one size you normally wear. I just measure my chest. I'm 45 and I wear L jackets, I have one M which doesn't fit me. I will go for M here. Looking at pic of Ryan from the movie shoot, the jacket looks small on him and he's a tiny guy. I saw a few interviews with him lately and I think he's more 5'11 abound 155lb rather than 6'1 and 170lb + poeple apear much bigger on the screen.

I normally take smalls but the XS seemed to fit my usual jackets more. Like I said the only part I'm worried about is the sweep, which is the bottom hem basically. The XS is 34" and my hips are 36". I have some 34" sweep jackets but they're hoodies and track jackets with full elastic waists. Hopefully the elastic waist on the Drive jacket will open up 2 inches.

....and think about it people, we can tailor this jacket very easy. My personal guy who tailored my suits does amazing job and I'm sure he can make this jacket fit me perfectly so I'm definitely ordering M instead of S. Last time he charged me only $16 for 2 blazers and he did amazing job!!!

It's the same jacket? So the sizing and everything is the same? Will there be any label? I'm wondering if it's the same jacket why 2 different prices? And why would people would order from Steady if Get Go Retro sells them for $139.

Yeah, of course it's the same jacket. You guys are aware that clothing brands often get distribution deals with other stores and websites to sell said clothing?

If you go to Steady's website and click Dealers it shows all the places their clothing is sold. They don't just selll through their website exclusively.

As far as the price, Steady probably set a MSRP of $159.99 but that's only the manufacturer recommended retail price, it's not what the garment actually costs retailers to buy from Steady. So they're allowed to price it as they see fit. I'm guessing the cost of the jacket is probably around $100-125 for retailers. The rest of the sales price would be profit. Seems like Get Go Retro maybe has lower overhead and decided they didn't need as high of a profit margin and priced the jacket lower than Steady.

You'd order from Get Go retro to save a few bucks but she's probably only getting a certain number of jackets from Steady so there's probably less of a chance for exchanges if something is wrong with the one you get. That would be the upside to ordering from the manufacturer for a higher cost.

Honestly guys, these practices and details aren't that weird or out of left field.

Well I'm 24, 5'11 around 165-170 pounds and all my jackets are small. So if I go down one size it would be xsmall(which is still somewhat a little bigger than the other jacket that I own).

Yeah I'm pretty similar (an inch shorter and maybe 5 lbs heavier) and I did an XS. I'm only worried about the waist. The S chest size really seems too big.

Well I ordered from go go retro, size medium. I'm 6'0 200 lbs, 44" chest. Hope it fits well :)

Medium for someome who's 200lb? I'm 180lb, 6'1 but my
chest is 45, and I'm thinking about M but I'm not sure now because
I'm not 200lb, not even close. I want this jacket to fit me
pretty slim but not skin tight. I will be still wearing shirt under it.
I'm waiting for Indy to post measurements of the stunt jacket.

Well I ordered before the sizing chart came out. Seems based on others opinions I should have ordered a small and not a medium. But I really don't consider myself a small guy. Nor do I want the jacket to be skin tight. But obvs I don't want it baggy either. I am keeping my medium on order, and we will just have to wait and see. As someone else pointed out, it can always be tailored for $25 or so.

I am 5'11" 165lbs 32" waist

So I spoke to Eric today from Steady Clothing today about the sizing. He told me he's 6 Foot, and I think he said he weighs 170 or 180 lbs. He said that a medium was to small for him and the large fits him perfect, and its still form fitting. I ordered a medium and he said I should go with the large, being that my height is 6'2.

The chest wasn't even the issue really. The length seemed like a bigger issue when I was talking to him. If you ordered or order a size xs or small the sleeves and the length of the jacket will most likely be to short and also the jacket will be to tight. Most people should either go with a medium or large unless your a pretty small person. But most everyone on heres seems to be around the same height and weight.

If you have questions about your sizing you should call in, the people at Steady are very helpful. I sent them an email and they immediately responded and I changed my order to a Large. Hopefully this helps some of you out.

I'm 6'2 185lb and just ordered the XS. I have a slim fitting leather jacket from Dior Homme in a size 48 Euro that has the same measurements as the XS. Steady made these jackets just too large. the measurements for the XS should really be more like a Medium. I'm afriad this jacket is going to be too large for any normal size girl or guy who weighs 150-160 or less.

This makes me feel perfect about my Medium :thumbsup

He told me he read some of the forums and he said people should go back and do there measurements of a jacket they wear that fits right, to see how close it is to the chart. You have to be carful about this thought because not every companies clothes fit the same. But he said he's seen people talking about xs and s and told me that, that size will be to small for people who are 6 foot. He said everything is pretty much exactly the same as the jacket ryan gosling wore in the film except, the length of the sleeves. Eric said ryan gosling is a small guy. So if you go with smaller sizes it will be to short especially the sleeves of the jacket. Call in and ask questions, if you dont wanna take my word.
