Dren From Splice

Ultimatum

After wanting to see it for so long, I finally got to watch Splice yesterday and I really loved it. Dren is so beautiful and if it's pretty I must do a cosplay of it!
Everything's fairly straight-forward and make-up achievable, until you get to the legs.
Is there any way to make those or is it impossible?

The only other examples of costumes with digitigrade feet like that are the lycans from Underworld and El Fauno from Pan's Labyrinth, which I'm pretty sure were achieved practically.

I think the biggest challenge is that her feet are essentially arms from the knees down. So basically hands for feet and she tends to put all her weight on her toes/fingers.

Any ideas?

I still haven't watched the film even though I own it, but I'm pretty sure it's the spliced up chick on the cover you are talking about :p

The only digitigrade feet I have seen for purchase are these from Weta - Weta Legs – Digitigrade Leg Extensions | Fun is 2 cool
Though they might be a little thick if you are going to pull latex arms over them or something?

Or you could just get spliced up the same way as her, I guess.

Those Weta legs look kick-ass. My idea was to make a mold of my forearm and thigh, sculpt them together to look like her legs and them put them over a frame. It could work for something like the Weta legs, but like you say, it might be a little too big.

Haha, that's just so cute, I'm sure that movie is great.

I think the Weta legs might be as thin as you can get something like that, concidering most the stuff straps tightly around the legs, but it still looks somewhat too thick for this.

Though I've always wondered if it was possible to just have the lower sections of digitigrade feet over your real feet, sort of like standing on the tip of really long shoes if you get what I mean, but the human leg muscles are maybe not strong enough for that over time, which is why the Weta legs are made the way they are, I suppose.

Aint she just so cute? I freaking love the movie, it's kind of had mixed reviews, but that seems to happen alot with sci fi.

Apparently they stoppped selling the legs through Weta but the designer hopes to distribute them elsewhere. I wonder how much they are.

i saw someone selling their own version of the weta style ones for like 300.00. I'm betting you can find them cheaper or if you know someone who is good with tools and a welder make you a set. Unless they're aluminum they must way a ton. Oh did you get my PM about places to check for digigrade legs?

I did, just forgot to reply, sorry.
$300 isn't bad, to make them I would probably be looking at just as much.
